Are there any other over the counter drugs like ipecac syrup but aren't quite as harsh?

I just think we need it in the house just to be safe but I read up on ipecac and it sounds kinda scary

Syrup of Ipecac is used for vomitting in most cases. I'm not quite sure what you are looking for a replacement for - maybe cost or other reasons.. But this is definitely something I would recommend you talk to your family care provider about. If you were to mistake the wrong substance in place of ipecac, it could have devastating results. The body is too complex to recommend an alternative without knowing how that alternative may affect the body. Labels on a bottle is not enough information to say "This works for vomitting" - it could have an inverse affect for someone who is dieting or sick, who drinks alcohol, etc. Address this issue the safe way and seek medical insight. You may even be able to phone your question in to your doctor - rather than going in yourself.

... Ipecac is legal and has been since 2010. No idea where the fuck you think you'd be able to find that shit anyhow cuz it's literally 1000% out of distribution in EVERY country due to the extensive history of misuse in cases of eating disorders and munchausen/munchausen by proxy. Telling them to talk to their doctor is stupid cuz clearly they're not going to since their anonymous status makes it pretty damn obvious they're just wanting to know another emetic that works as well for bulimia purposes. Esp considering their age and the fact they're asking online instead of bringing it up to a clinical professional who would automatically hold them on a watch out of legal obligation and force them to talk to a shrink for the next couple hours and make them fill out a million stupid mental health questionarres.

Either way, puking isn't always the best solution for swallowing potentially toxic substances. Even if it is, in a pinch you can use your fingers

HRSA made it VERY CLEAR back in like 2004/5(?) that forced vomiting after consuming toxic product is literally THE MOST UNSAFE THING TO DO!!! One call to poison control or a talk with any elderly or even literally reading any bottle of toxic product ever will tell you that. So, no. You don't need any emetics on hand.
