Trending & News I think of stick to your rib food as food that you enjoy and that makes you full.
Like fresh honey-BBQ wings fresh from the skillet. I like them so tender that they fall off the bone and melt in my mouth... And then there's the creamy, rich, ranch sauce. *shivers*
I just had a mouth-gasm.
Oh, and those fresh, thick, sweet, gooey, warm, chocolate chunk cookies straight from the oven.. And then drown them in a tall glass of rich chocolate milk... ahhhhhh... I had another mouth-gasm!
Excuse me, I need some ... Alone time now. lol x ]
Healthy? ... ummmm ... *nervous laugh* ... not so much!
Stick to your ribs, to me, has always meant food that will nourish you and fill you up. Now that does not have to be junk & fattening foods that some folks initially think of. It most certainly can be healthy foods such as chicken that is boneless, skinless and grilled, fish, it is a healthy veggie soup, black bean soup with chicken broth, or pasta tossed with fresh tomatoes and garlic & basil. These things are healthy and filling. They "stick to your ribs," so to speak. They aren't light fare.

I think food that "sticks to your ribs" can absolutely be healthy. I think it refers to protein and fiber, foods that help you feel full- not foods that make you gain weight.
Well I think foods that stick-to-your ribs are heavier, richer and probably more calorie laden than other foods. Like you will never hear of a salad being stick to your ribs type food...
It makes you healthy and strong. <<is my take on that phrase.
Foods like,

I don't think it really sticks to your ribs though ;) its just an expression.
Stick to your ribs is anything that's going to make you gain weight. It's most meats and anything that's a really heavy meal, like pasta.
I don't know. But ribs are quite tasty. I've heard the saying "stick to your guns" at least I think that's what it was. I don't think I would want to eat guns though. That might give me a serious stomach ache. :( Go ribs!
Massive amounts of food at one time. Things like Thanksgiving dinner

Most processed food will still to your ribs.
