Do you use mouth wash? What's a good mouth wash for the health of your teeth and gums?
Do you brush your tongue?
What kind of bristle toothbrush do you use (hard, medium, soft, extra soft)?
How often do you go for scaling at the dentist?
I brush my teeth at least twice a day sometimes once or three times it all depends on what I ate that day.
I actually forget flossing a lot but, I have started back doing it at least once a week
I use crest total health or care... lol can't remember the name exactly, I have also used Listerine total care, the Listerine whitening OH MY GOSH! THAT THING IS SOOOO NASTY, it almost made me throw up my breakfast.
I brush my tongue morning and night
Soft bristle to medium, but usually soft
I go every six months, I just went yesterday
So did I! haha... did they floss your teeth afterward and push down really hard on your gums? Because the guy did to mine and I'm not sure if they're meant to do it till it hurts...
Oh my gosh yes, I am now starting to get a new dentist every time I go they always are changing. There is a brown haired lady who feels like she is flossing my feeth with a knife! My teeth are tight/close together and when she pulls down she just slams into my gums. I had another woman yesterday she was nice... she actually told me to floss a little more... the mouth thing where it fits onto your teeth and they fill it with that floride thing almost made me throw up :(
Floss 1-2x daily (or as needed to remove food stuck in my teeth)
brush 2xdaily (minimum, sometimes I'll brush after eating certain foods, or after drinking)
yes I brush my tongue- which is what everyone should be doing
SOFT BRISTLES ONLY! I work in dental, so trust me, anything stronger will wear away your gums
I get a cleaning 1x yr...I sometimes do it myself, and it doesn't always involve scaling. The ultrasonic handpiece worked great too!
Oh gees no wonder you're so good with it LOL I was like reading down the list like wow, wow... ohh "dental" :P
Okay, I'll check out ACT... if we even have that here.
Do you know a place where I can get ultra soft bristles? I had one like 7 years ago when I worked at a dental place but I don't think they sell those types at stores :P it was so nicee.
You know how you're meant to brush your gums now (sort of, still targeting the teeth)... at a 45 degree angle, do you suggest doing this each time you brush or only like once a day. I know you're meant to be very gentle but would brushing it too many times a day lead to receeding gums?
I unfortunately don't floss
I don't use mouthwash because the alcohol dries out my tongue. The others don't seem to refresh my mouth enough, that's why I brush my tongue.
Yes I brush my tongue. ^^
I have a electric toothbrush that uses the smaller round brush. I don't think they come in bristle type. I never paid attention. I buy whatever Costco has.
Every 6 months
I don't think I've experienced that dry feeling on my tongue but yeah, I agree with you about the others not being refreshing enough. XD
I live in the desert. The humidity & dew point are usually in the low teens. That has a lot to do with it.
Once a day and I don't floss even though I should. I don't use mouth wash because every single dentist I've asked said not to. Instead it's better to leave a little bit of the toothpaste on your teeth when your brushing before going to bed, It protects the teeth because there is no saliva to protect them when you're sleeping.
That's if you leave your mouth open when you sleep ;) but yeah, it helps, so does tooth mousse! :) & if you use mouth washes that don't contain alcohol it's better for your gums but they're just not refreshing.
Do you use a particular type of toothpaste before bed or does it not matter?
Trial and error. I usually try out all the pastes that are supposed to help with that drilling pain in teeth and choose which one works best.

I brush 2-3 times a day. Each time I use mouthwash as well and brush my tongue. I floss like once a week to every 2 weeks (not very good at that). =P I would guess that I use a medium bristle but it's not something I pay all that much attention to. I get my teeth cleaned at the dentist every 6 months.

I use a medium bristle tooth brush.
I go to the dentist every 6 months.
Brushing too much is actually REALLY bad for your teeth. Flossing is what you should do multiple times.
Youre right that flossing is awesome, but brushing depends on a few things 1)how much pressure used when brushing. You don't need to press hard at all. It won't actually hurt your teeth, but your gums will wear down & recede if you're too vigorous. 2) Type of tooth brush used-soft bristles only! 3)diet-eating sugary/acidic foods at MINIMUM you should rinse your mouth after eating/drinking. 4)the bacteria content in a person's saliva-this determines how susceptible you are to plaque and cavities
morning and evening for about 60 to 90 seconds daily
once, I probably should do more
but I've never had any problems with my teeth
I brush once when I get up. Once before I go to sleep.
Lik twice a day...
