Is 70/40 Blood Pressure really bad?

Yesterday for the first time in my life my body went into shock.

My vision blurred I couldn't see 3 feet ahead of me.

I was struggling to breath, I dropped to the ground a few times as I was outside.

I vomited 3 times

As soon as I got home I called the ambulance, was just me at home.

They gave me piriton injection, they couldn't get a vain because my blood pressure was so low, tried 3 injections.

My blood pressure dropped to 70/40 what does this mean?

Then they gave me a shot of adrenaline in the leg and shortly after that I felt better.

Was it really that fatal?

The nurse said I could have died if I didn't have the injections and wasn't rushed to hospital.

But I feel absolutely fine now. All this occurred about 24 hours ago exactly. 2:30 - 3am

This has never happened to me before and I'm actually very healthy.

oh god, I just read this and I think I have similar condition though I don't know the exact numbers. I've checked with the doctor before, turned out okay, just a little on the low side he said. But I vomit when my head hurts really badly and I have hard time breathing too. It gets in the way when I try to study but not when I'm running. I can't be running all day long...my mom thinks that I either don't eat well, sleep well, or even pregnant! lol sighs

Yes, that is extremely low blood pressure. Even though your blood pressure has now gone up and you're feeling fine, you should still go and see your doctor as soon as you can!

You have hypotension (NOT Hypertension) which means low blood pressure which results in dizziness, fainting, tiredness, etc. Below this level a coma and even death is possible. Scroll down on this chart and you'll get the picture on where 70/40 is.

Curious about this. It's clearly serous. Shouldn't you have been in A and E or at the hospital all day while they were performing tests?

Yh I was in hospital for 8 hours

I still don't know. I ate Paella before which had prawns they think it could have been some allergic reactiom to the shell fish. But as I know I'm not allergic to anything and I've had Paella I'm the past.
