Trying to beat my weight battle for good. Any advice?

I've gained and lost weight so many times. I've gone from 250 lbs to 150 lbs and back to 250 lbs. I'm currently at 210 lbs. and struggling to get the fat off but it's so frustrating. I realize the weight gain always comes when I am complacent in life...like the last time was due to being unemployed for so long and having nowhere to go. The time prior to that had to do with starting my first official 9-5 job where exercise wasn't incorporated in my life.

I'm contemplating just accepting myself just as I am but I know I'm not attractive or confident when I'm overweight...not to mention the health issues that come with it. My father even died 3 years ago due to heart problems. I realize that weight will always be a struggle for the rest of my life because I love bad food too much. Currently, I'm eating more healthy foods now and not eating out as much. I even joined a gym and try to do some DVD workouts. Any advise on how to permanently beat this weight battle for good? I'm tired of always doing this to myself.
