Bacon... Crispy or soft?

My sister and I have always been the odd ones out in my family. Where the rest like their bacon crispy (Very crispy, in my mom's case. Borderline charcoal is how she likes most any meat), my sister and I think it tastes burnt when it's that well done. We prefer ours soft and chewy (not gristly and fatty, but soft enough that it droops decently). Most people that I know either seem to like theirs crispy or don't have a preference, so I thought I'd see what you all thought. Are my sister and myself in the minority, or do you guys like your bacon soft, too?
