Do you eat food that drops on the floor?

my friends tell me its wrong to eat food that fell on the floor. Does anyone on GaG do it?

If I have a sandwich and drop it, it goes sin the trash. If I had a piece of frozen chicken (when I at meat) then yeah I would rinse it then I would cook it. If I had piece of chocolate I would be like this link then I would throw it away. It would break my heart but I would still do it. If it is frozen and I had to cook it them yeah I would probably keep it but anything else then I would throw it away.

At my house, if one piece of chicken drop, yeah I would, cause I trust my floor, knowing we keep it clean.

Bacteria is all around us and is completely natural to be exposed to a little bit of it here and there. Pick it up and eat it.

I've never gotten sick from eating food off the floor. Your immune system is an amazing thing. Don't let Lysol convince you that everything has to be sanitized all the time or else you're going to die. The body was meant to handle small to even medium sized doses of bacteria.

Well if it drops on a floor inside, that floor has been cleaning routinely and is likely to carry less germs than if it was dropped outside.

Mashed potatos on any floor...no!

M&M on living room floor...yes!

M&M on public bathroom floor..NO!

yeah makes sense, though id probably eat the upper layer of mash potato, just not the part that's touching the ground :)

The only place I would eat food that I dropped, is my house, my boyfriend's house, or my parent's house, because I know its pretty clean. Anywhere besides those few places, I would never do that.
