Why is the superbowl played on a Sunday? Is me or is this just stupid

I can not even remember how many Mondays I have had to call off work, because I partied too hard on Sunday Superbowl. Why don't they change the damn thing?

Maybe it's just me, but Superbowl Sunday just has a ring to it. Superbowl Monday, Superbowl Wednesday, Superbowl Saturday . . . none of them really have that ring to it when you say it, but when you say Superbowl Sunday, you get that ring. That's not my reasoning but just thought I'd mention it. It's on Sunday because all games throughout the regular season are played on Sunday. Monday Night Football and the new(ish) Thursday Night Football are special days that only a total of 4 teams play on each week. On the last week of the regular season there is no Monday Night Football or Thursday Night Football. Only football on Sunday. So, it only makes sense that about 87% of all NFL games are played on Sunday for the Championship game for the league to also be played on Sunday. Only weather will move it and should move it to either Saturday or Monday.

I'm not against it being on a Saturday but Sunday Football has been a tradition and I'm fine with it being on a Sunday.

I think it's fine for it to be on Sunday.

Football in the professional league is played on Sunday's & Monday but as the season goes on it stays on Sunday.

Just like College football is on Saturday & high school football is on the week days like Thurs & Friday.

If it gets too cold or too much snow or wind they might move the Superbowl to Saturday or Monday. I don't think they will do it.

It's not the NFL's responsibility to move the date just because you're irresponsible. And if you're partying every year during the Super Bowl then obviously you're not a real football fan and you should either party on a Friday or Saturday like everybody else

Sunday is the day when more people are free than any other day. Saturdays people usually hang out with their friends or go to bars or shop for groceries for the following week. Sundays people have church and sabbath and nothing else going on .

Anyways, Sunday is a good day for Football. Very few people work on Sundays and it gives people the opportunity to travel and such over the weekend. Also, there's less TV programming going on.
