Sometimes I let mine get in the way of other fun😕!
I think both 🤔.
stress will usually follow if something new and unknown is engaged, or something cherished could be lost (progress; etc).
I may have to come back to this. It could be a reality, but I guess it all just depends on mindset, a good routine shift of hobbies, or incorporating hobbies that are more expressive based, or gratitude inducing.

+1 yMostly alleviate but I can get obsessive and then I back off and think "you do this for YOU, you do this because it brings YOU joy. If you are getting frustrated about it, it's taking away joy and it defeats the point of the hobby in the first place".

m +1 yhmm, yes... they all happen to be great for relief, release of energy, stress... as well as distraction and great past-time activities
especially sports and combat arts, which are the more energetic... I would even go as far as to say they've been therapeutic at different points of my life12 Reply- +1 y
It is good that you have a release which benefits your mind and body!

by the way, I would never ever call you guys a hobby or a past-time... but G@G is actually another interest of mine, that does the same for me... and this is because all the good and great people in here, such as yourself (=
+1 yI definitely have a tendency to bight off too much when I jump in to hobbies… so I tend to get pretty stressed. But then again they do usually help me to relax when I focus on chilling and enjoying them. Did I mention that my many hobby is girls and pussy?… 😂😂😂

Good Lord! Thanks for your input.

😂😂😂 you’re very welcome! 😜😊
+1 yThey alleviate stress for me, although I don’t always have enough time to engage in the hobbies I enjoy. Sometimes I have to spend a fair amount of my personal time doing work stuff and it drives me nuts.

We shall hope that changes for the better as your future unfolds!

Ha, that is a tall order for a teacher, LOL! With each passing year it seems to be more about what administration wants and less about what children need. And administrators have to answer to the government, but if something goes awry, teachers get the blame. It’s a vicious cycle.

You are a saint in our book :-). I am blown away by the amount of devotion our children's teachers give to their profession. I wish you the best of luck in navigating a tough situation.
+1 yMy hobbies include spending money so they alleviate stress and then build it back 😂

@Wish4UrB00ty @emiliaamazing Thanks y'all :) and okay i’ll follow your new acc theft
Most of the time they alleviate it. But sometimes I get involved to deeply in to the details and forget about the hobby itself.

Still, it takes your mind to a different world!
I, at times, wake up at 2:00 AM thinking about playing the piano, as an accompaniment to Ave Maria, with my violin/piano teacher, in an adult recital at HBSM. Not sure if that creates stress but does interfere with sleep. It IS STRESSFUL when I cannot correctly play a piece that I have worked on.

u +1 yI spend much of my time in volunteer activities and sometimes I don't have enought time for everything I want to do, so that can cause stress.

Volunteer work sounds so gratifying :-). I hope you continue to do things that are good for your mind and body :-)
Depends on the hobby. I like running and working out to relieve my stress. That helps.
I also like to read and that is a great stress reliever.
Gardening is my another hobby that causes stress at times though.
01 Reply- +1 y
Ha, the gardening. Definitely requires a lot of attention.
It's cute that you think I have time or energy for hobbies, even if I did, I'm incapable of feeling joy or satisfaction so it would be a waste of time anyway
00 ReplyI believe my hobbies are an outlet for stress and anxiety

Yess! Can never go wrong with expressive hobbies because it’s YOU and not holding yourself to a standard.
Some things we can develop ourselves in, and others should be just what and who we are without apology and without mimicking anyone else but our own. Make it you!
It will be so fun to see parts of yourself constructed and projected into art that you can visually behold and enjoy.
You make it come alive and I hope you continue to truly enjoy it 😁
+1 yA bit of both, I have upper and downer hobbies lol.
When one gets frustrating I just switch it up.
00 ReplyI haven’t given my hobbies much attention in a long time. I should probably get back into some of them.
02 Reply- +1 y
You absolutely should get back into some hobbies! Your outlook on life is already amazing, why not make it even better :-)
+1 yThey alleviate it for me. But life gets in the way of my hobbies
02 Reply- +1 y
That seems to be the case with many of us, but especially guys. My hobbies are centered around our home, but my husbands are focused on the outdoors. Sometimes it's very hard for him to get out of the house or away from all the kid activities.
