I learned when I was maybe 13. We had a lake very close to where we lived which backed on to a pitch and putt golf course. During the close season myself and a few friends went from the stone skipping thing to a Frisbee.
two of us would stand one side of the river, and usually the same on the other and we would skim the frisbee across. We were actually very good at it. In the time we played it we only lost 5 frisbees!
Yes Iām normally pretty good at it.
I have even been to where the world champs are help, not competing lol
Absolutely! Skipping stones is fun. The trick is finding a flat, smooth rock and skimming it across the water with a flick of your wrist. The flatter it is, the more skips you get! There are videos online that show the throwing technique if you want to perfect your skills. Good luck!
Yes it's all about getting a good spin on it and hitting the water as flat as possible. I usually get 6 or 7 jumps.

One of the best days of my life with family was just walking along the railroad tracks skipping stones with my cousins who were only 2-5 years older than me and in those 3 hours I learned every degenerate, criminal, intoxicating, & sexual thing that I eventually did. Cousins are special people. Like honorary siblings. Miss those days... 💔🙌🏻
Yes Bella and when I was a kid I did it a lot. My family lived near a small lake. You find a flattish shaped rock and throw it sideways and try to count the skips.
🙂
I can skip stones, and big rocks, and babies, and lawn mowers. When I was young I could even skip school.
I can't remember for sure, but I think the last time I skipped stones was last summer.
I knew how to skip stones before I knew that skipping stones was a thing... lol
I can if I can find a nice flat and small stone to throw. It's all in the elbow.
As per the Credence clip , one of my Youtube favs , yes I certainly do know how to skip stones.
My answer is no. But it's neat watching the stones go for a swim.
I've known since I was a young lad and watched the Andy Griffith TV series.
Yes , I go to a beach where there are a lot of flat rocks.
Nah, I've never been in the right setting for it. Beaches don't have the right rocks
Yup living in the country and near a lake, I did it often growing up
I used to do it when I was younger, maybe I can do it now still, but I haven't tried it in long time
Yes I used to do it for hours at a time as a kid at this pond I could walk to
i tried but failed.
Never tried but looks fun
Since I was a kid. Fun times.
I can kind of do it.
Record for me has been twelve times
I can do it very easily and very good
