2000's music or 1990's?

I'm a 90s kid who was raised on boy band music, but looking at it now, I think 2000s. I was also raised on rock music, and the old "classic rock" sound sort of died in the 90s with the rise of grunge and pop music, but then started to be revived in the 2000s with bands like Jet and Wolfmother. But it's also the time when some 90s non grunge bands like Green Day, Chili Peppers and System of a Down for instance started popping out their biggest hits.

The 2000s were the beginning of music sucking. We had great music from the 1950s to the 1990s but now it's all trash. For example, Taylor Swift's generic boy drama songs wouldn't have sold 10 copies in any decade in the 1900s.

2000s blew away the 90s. The 90s was not called the great heavy metal famine for nothing. Rock was basically dead in the 90s.

Early 2000s was way better. The 90s had terrible music.

Both was good :) I think 2000s for hip hop was probably the best era. But I was a kid in the 90s so I liked a lot of the goofy catchy songs that came out then.

Although the popular songs played on the radio during both times, not my cup of tea… Modern songs are also not my cup of tea either.

Neither overall. There are a few great bands and artists here and there, but for the most part, popular music went significantly downhill during that time in my opinion.

I like 90s music the most, but that is when I grew up so that may be part of the reason. My favorite bands are Pantera, Metallica, MegaDeth, Fear Factory, and Manowar, and those bands best albums are mostly from the 90s too.

I love both but I’ll have to go with 2000s since that was my middle school and high school years. Although I really disliked the Yin Yang Twins and other krunk music
