Pre 2000s because the Industry was less noticeably greedy & allowed artists to have more creative freedoms with their works than nowadays. Music to me isn’t just the sound, it is the lyrics complexity & the instruments & the frontmen/women making it all come together as a group for me, it is more pure that way & strikes through the heart.

'30's-'50's Big Band (Sinatra/Basie) was excellent as was '90's New Wave (Simple Minds). The latter includes R&B like Boyz To Men and Shai. Modern music is mostly without character.

Mostly pre-2000's. 80's and 90's, were the best, as well as the second half of the 70's.
EDM, Synth-wave, Vocal Trance, Ambient Techno, and other styles I like.
