Is it normal for a grown man in his 20s to still play with Legos as a hobby and doesn't want to be judged for it?

The bottom line playing with lego is not wrong but you will be known and the guy who plays with legos it would be fake to pretend like we don’t see it


A good friend of mine is unlucky with women but also has all kinds of nerdy hobbies and I always tell him
Just because the hobbies are harmless and even fun at times doesn’t mean he can expect a woman to overlook that he’s an overgrown dork


And sometimes it’s a good idea to broaden your horizons and get into some new things that are more adult and reflect well on your image

What is "normal" anyway? If he enjoys it that's kinda the beginning middle and end of the conversation. There are plenty of people of both genders who play with Legos, the fantasy role-playing games, model kits, and any other type of creative endeavor. It's fun and it's safe but I know from my own experience with my son it's not cheap!! He's 20 and he still wants a LEGO set for his birthday every year. I think you should be happy and grateful that he has a healthy and creative outlet and you should encourage it tbh.

No one really ever wants to be judged for any of their hobbies. My mom took it back up when she retired a couple years ago. She does famous buildings and city skylines and such. As long as it's a hobby and not a life-consuming obsession, then it seems fine.

My mom still does legos as a near 60-year-old. She made a 4 foot recreation of the eiffel tower. She enjoys it a lot. I don’t see any reason to shame her for that.

It is not common but why not? If he was building stuff in an online game no one would bat an eye. If was using lego to model some machine no one would bat an eye. If he was competing in a lego championship he would get status for it.

No one wants to be judged so that part is straight forward.

I think it is OK for an adult to have 'playing with Lego' as a hobby. What about playing with Legos makes it only acceptable for a kid/teen to do? Do you think painting/sculpting/crafts is only acceptable for a kid/teen to do? Do you think someone is less of an adult if they do something that involves following directions/plans?

I think that is OK. Someone's character (e. g. accountable, authentic) and then their ability to do adult things such as manage money, hold a job, keep house clean, etc is more important.

Legos can be fun even for adults. I'm glad I had kids young so I could keep playing with legos, video games, nerf guns as a adult without it being weird 😅

There really is no normal, but I don't believe it is that common. I know of a woman that is about 40 that plays with them.
