Are you judgmental towards certain breeds of dogs?

Went to a street event today, whole street and parts of side streets in the city are blocked off for food, music and fun. Met up with a friend who brought her dog, a rather large rottweiler. It was interesting to see the people around us either step out the way or instantly want to come over and say hi to him. Most people were really good and friendly as is the dog. What I found most interesting is it was the kids who mostly wanted to come up and say hi and every single one asked for permission first 🙏🏻 while there parents watched on nervously definitely not as nervously as they watched their kid pet the border collie next to us.

(Would like to add this dogs name is Cookie and he is incredibly friendly to people and other dogs, I just met him today for the first time and he sat on my lap while we were waiting for drinks)

Not towards dogs specifically, but towards owners, absolutely. I don’t know what the breed is called but you know those little white crusty eyed dogs? I can’t stand them. Because they’re small, owners never train them, socialise them or exercise them properly. Almost always an old persons dog. So the dog becomes a little yapping nightmare because it doesn’t know better.


I think rotties are adorable, I've met some really well behaved and gentle Rottweilers, but I have also met vicious rotties who lived a life of being chained up and neglected, and I feel so sorry for them. One of my ex-boyfriends had a rottie as a family dog, but his parents never socialised it or welcomed it into the home, it remained chained up outside. One time it got inside the house and attacked one of the kids, leading to facial stitches for that kid. Everyone blamed the dog but really the parents were to blame and it disgusted me. Even the most kind and gentle breed of dog can be a vicious beast if it’s only ever been treated with abuse and neglect.

I love turning big dogs into lap dogs. I absolutely hate chihuahuas. Most people refuse to train them and the amount those little rats like to do their high-pitched bark is insane. Had to file a complaint with animal control against my neighbor who liked to leave theirs out all day. I don't need to deal with that whenever I'm in my backyard and they now take the little shit inside every time it starts barking at me.

I judge terriers differently. Because of Kids in the Hall. (I realize this isn't really relevant. I got excited before clicking and being able to see your description.

I only have a problem with a dog that seems aggressive or unfriendly regardless of breed. So it's the temperament of the dog, not the breed that I might have a problem with.

and I've volunteered with them a few times before, you know... those who are a bit aggressive and need to be "reformed"

100 times out of a hundred... these dogs were abused/neglected/trained to be that "bad"

My wife and I love dogs. We often go up to a dig, asking permission first, to say hi and prt them. Having said thst, we are aware of some breeds that can be dangerous if provoked, mostly because 8f their size. So we are careful around dogs, but we don't discriminate.

There are certain breeds I just don't trust because I've seen them snap, even though I've seen a lot of those same breeds be very friendly most of the time. That said, I get along well with most animals, but I think it's best to check with the owners if you want to approach any animal.

I am judgmental to the human experience, the itch to have cutest dogs on the planet since it enabled dog breeders to breed for cuteness above all other traits which the inbreeding practices caught up to them to make them have genetic defects.

Every dog breed, look up what they looked like 100 years ago compared to today and it looks awful what happened. Doesn’t take a scientist to know something went wrong.

No, I like just about any kind of dog. The only ones that bug me are those little yappy dogs. As long as they shut up, I don't mind them at all. Other than that, certain breeds I'm very allergic to but, they still tend to fall in love with me.

I am not the biggest fan of terrier dogs, no matter their size. Many of them have aggressive traits and the owners don’t educate them properly, because „what harm can this little dog do?“. 🙄

Yea you know those small hairy ones, I hate those things, almost all of them bark and then get scared when you get close to them.

Yes. I will refuse to own any breed of dog that has a potential history of attacking people. A Samoyed would probably be my 1st choice, if I were to ever own a dog.
