What is one quality/hobby/skill that would impress you about a girl when on a date?

I know it’s going to sound cheesy but I really try my best not to impress someone on a first date number one because some people make themselves look silly. Two because I want her to get to know me for who I really am not make up lies or exaggerate myself.

Some people put up a good act for a couple dates but eventually the real them shows through and people can loose interest. If it’s not meant to be it’s just not meant to be and that’s okay.

It’s not cheesy and I actually resonate with that what you see is what you get mentality…because appearances can be hard to maintain. It’s best to be exactly who you are. However, the question was about what would impress you about a girl…like some skill/achievement/hobby that she might reveal in conversation.

That’s exactly the issue you don’t want to be keeping up appearances forever and at some point you can’t. That’s also narcissistic behavior putting on too good of a appearance and once you get to know someone they’re really nothing as they seemed.

Good to know guys also like funny girls, I personally love a sarcastic sense of humour and yes, I concur with the the fact that people tend to project their best selves initially while dating only to end up being disappointed later or taxed from having to keep it up. Thanks for the answer:)

Absolutely! I love a good sense of humor too. You’re welcome and I’m the same it I think someone’s putting on too much of a performance I wonder if they are being genuine or just trying to impress me or…. If they are faking who they are to hide their true self

Yeah. I think it’s normal to want to look good to someone you are attracted to. But there is the extreme of that as well.

Some people who seem too good to be true are and it’s not until you’re around them long enough that the mask comes off.

If she’s been a champion in sports; whether on a team or as an individual. I love sports and enjoy the competing in and fair play. If she’s dedicated to her sport it can show passion and determination along with discipline and ambition. That would impress me and cause me to be curious how she got into it and what drives her to excel.

That would be the ability to flirt. A quick mind. A playful nature. The self confidence to both give and take a good natured insult without getting defensive or mean. The intelligence to bury a double entendre in a seemingly harmless comment that takes me a few seconds to process. All while talking about current events and general life stuff.

On the other hand if you're talking about simply disclosing a quality/hobby/skill while on a date.

Tell me you ski.

Tell me you're interested in history.

Tell me you can find the Indian Ocean on a map.

Tell me you know that New Mexico isn't a foreign country.
