Not really, my grandfather tried to teach me but I didn’t absorb it too well, I would need help with how the pieces move.

However I am surprisingly good at checkers! My grandfather taught me that also and I absorbed that one better than chess.

Yes and no, if I could play with a human being face to face probably would get a lot of “you can’t move that piece over there”.
I do know because I played it during Pandemic on my phone against AI to learn it.

Yes, I used to play chess with friends and family quite often when I was younger. Now, I just watch the occasional chess problem video on YouTube.
