What DIY summer projects are you working on or planning?

Chunks of my summer is being consumed by what should have been a small kitchen repair... but I'm starting to review DIY strategies and should be able to get it done by next Saturday at the very latest. What about y'all?

I live in a rented farm house, so my landlord takes responsibility for repairs. But my wife and I are in the process of buying a house, and then I'm sure my list will be very long.

Vegetable garden takes a lot of my time. I do it more as a hobby than for the food. Although it's producing pretty damn good this year. There is something satisfying about dinner time and walking out the door to pick my dinner...

Remodeling the bathroom. I already installed a new toilet. Then I saw a vanity, sink and faucet combo at a garage sale for $20 and grabbed it. They were pretty nice and in good condition. New, that would cost well over $1200-1500. So I'm going for a full remodel now.

I finally installed a new ceiling light in the laundry room. Got the new smoke detector in there also.

I need to repair the washing machine. I just repaired it last year. It's on it's last legs, but I'll repair it at least once more before buying a new one. I'm old school. I don't throw stuff away just because it broke. Not gonna spend $500-600 for something I can fix for <$20 in parts. Yay Internet for cheap parts.

I got the gutters cleaned in the back, and still need to do the front.

I finally cut back some overgrown bushes. They were so big I couldn't even get them from a ladder without it being precarious.

Patching the driveway

I need to replace all the outdoor outlets. I have the parts but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Painting the garage door.

Figuring out why the range fan in the kitchen leaks water when we get a hard rain.

Fix my lawn mower. Fortunately I have a second one, even if it's not as good.

Install a new post for the mail box. The guy who hit it with his car should fix it, and he knows how. But he's not doing it, so I guess I have to.

Grind the stump from my old maple tree. It's pretty well rotted now so it should crumble now.

LOVE it! Though I’ll share that the dishwasher you could have haggled down to $250 at PCRichards using discount fliers from other stores. They price-match then try to offer 25% less. July 4th and Black Friday sales are the sweet spot for that.

I just power washed my decks and other stuff. I also planted some grass in my backyard and it is growing nicely. I am going to seal my driveway. Nothing really major.
