I think the only thing that separates classical from the modern music forms is electricity. Electrical amplification opens the door to things like distortion and various different effects, subtle things like hammer ons on a guitar become more audible and viable as a performance technique. I began as a clarinetist years ago and evolved into vocal music, then electric bass and guitar. The classical composers were the rock stars of their day, and the full range of tempos and dynamics can be found in their work, the thing is their is a lot more work than most people hear because what is usually presented are a very few top artists. As an example you are probably a lot more likely to hear a Beatles song today than The Cowsills or Porter Wagner, but the others exist and are still out there.

Classical music is always awesome! I enjoy music thoroughly and complex music especially so nothing really beats classical and prog music for me.

i work in commercial music now but i grew up studying classical (i grew up in a practice room!) and i still play in orchestras sometimes, and my mother has been an orchestra player for over 30 years (plus 4 previous generations of my family before that) 🤷‍♀️

but i can convince anyone classical music is not stuffy and boring, and all contemporary commercial music derives from classical music (Baroque through post-modern)

I like the most famous musicians like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart had a few good songs but he often sounds meek which I do not like in my music. I used to listen to classical music every morning before class in middle school and it was one of the high lights of my school experience.

I like classical music. In addition to the well known Beethoven, Bach and Mozart, there are many other composers and co positions. Ravel's Bolero and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture are some of my favorites.
