Do you like taking pictures?

I wasn't a big fan of taking pictures but I really love it now. I love taking pictures of people (without face) with a nice background or I instruct my sister on how to take the pic and pose myself or take nature pics. I really like taking these cinematic shots. I suck at recording cinematic videos but I'm learning. And no camera is bad quality for me, any phone camera with bad quality adds 'texture' to my photos and since I don't really take pictures of faces, it doesn't look weird. My profile pic is one example

This is one of the sky pictures I really love.

It was my dad's iphone so obviously it had to be detailed!

This is my sister, I feel like I could have done better. I wanted it to give 'lost in unknown place and don't know what to do'

I might as well make a mytake just talking about all the pictures I clicked

I bought a 35 mm camera with a zoom lens and some fancy filters before I went to Europe for a month in 1994. I had a field day. Some of the shots turned out really well, but I didn't really know what I was doing and most of them were typical vacation shots. Nothing artistic.

I met my wife in 1994 and married her in 1996. She was not only a top notch hair stylist and make up artist but also a professional photographer. When she took photos on our vacations, she took photos that I never would have thought of. They were truly artistic and they were high quality. She had an expensive camera with different lenses. She even had them developed in a professional photo lab and not a Photomat.

I wound up learning a lot from her.

She later went digital and became a Photoshop expert.

Once I got an iPhone, I gave up on film cameras. But I. take LOTS of photos with my phone.

For improvements hmmmm 🤔🤔🤔 I think playing around with the exposure could help your pics get the pop you're really looking for! I think for the first two pictures, even though the subject is the sky, maybe less negative space will help with the impact of the red in the sky. But other than that I love em!!!

Can't wait to see more pictures when you eventually invest in a DLSR/mirrorless camera 🤣🤣. The hobby can get pretty expensive haha.

Haha, I apologize if that came off negative. Was just teasing a bit. I do hope you'll be able to get one soon though. Some of the entry level cameras aren't too expensive nowadays. Lenses are what ultimately start breaking the bank, especially if you're an impulsive shopper like myself 🤣🤣.

I haven't had the energy to take any real photos of her yet. She's exhausting me and won't let me get a full nights rest. Camera has remained untouched since I brought her home.

Photography was one of my minors for my Bachelor degree in Communications and Visual Design, and I have shot weddings and done a fair amount of studio work.

Of course, I still like to "just take photos" for my own enjoyment, trips, family albums and all the rest of it. A grab shot from Knoxville Botanical Garden is attached. Angle was compromised due to service buildings on the premises, but it's OK for the family album.

The first pic. I would have moved to the right and realigned the shot. You have two basic pieces of interest in the photo- dark tree area, bright sky area. They are stacked now, not the best way to compose the photo. By moving to the right and possibly a bit forward, the dark trees would stay on the left, while the bright sky might appear to be more to the right, on a diagonal balance with the dark trees. Pic 3, boat wake and horizon. Good shot, just recrop so it isn't split across the center. Higher ratio of boat wake to sky. Last pic - the stair shot. Just need to edit out the legs at the top left. Having a little more image area behind the subject (to the left in the pic) would help the balance. Otherwise, it's a great shot.

I like taking random pictures m. My dad was a good photographer, I wish I learned more from him. All I can say is take the image as you want to remember it and keep what you want people to focus on in the center. If you don't want them to focus on one particular thing then that doesn't matter. Just keep the image well framed, like try to keep stuff out of the middle that you don't want people focusing on.

I do enjoy taking pictures myself but I prefer photos of animals or landscapes and such.


With the lost looking photo im not sure if perhaps maybe if you could see more going on around would help convey it. Almost the contrast to the busy environment to the still isolation could strengthem the effect.

I really hope that i have worded that well as it is a good photo amd I dont want to come across in the wrong way.

It looks vaguely similar to the structure shown in temple run game. It does have that temple or shrine vibe to it, I guess it's because of cuboidal body but triangle top. If it had some of those green wall weeds it would have looked like an abandoned temple of a remote forest.
