Does anyone go snowmobiling?

My dad got the old Arctic Cat snowmobile (2010 Sno Pro) running today and I took it for a couple spins around the field which was fun until I remembered it was winter and I was cold and I wanted to go home and put on my pink flannel jammies and hibernate until spring while whining and complaining all winter about how it's winter.

The last couple years haven't really been all that great for sledding ( We didn't complain 'cuz it kept the damn tourists out) and this year the Olde Farmers Almanac says below normal precip but other sources say we're gonna' get buried hard so snowmobiles might be really good to have anyway since you can get about anywhere on trails and half the time our one tar road in town is plowed really bad and everyone complains but no one else wants the job so we just put up with it.

Anyway, back to todays question:
Does anyone go snowmobiling?

(I was going really slow and it barely put a dent in the front and a little crack in the cowling. And there WAS a deer in the trail. 😳)

We have cold it here but snow is rare. Snowmobile is maybe a thing in north Sweden, Finland and Norway but this is 1500 km northwards.
Instead a snowmobile is a motorbike or quad better choice here.
I will soon start to make A-class drive license and I could drive a Snowmobile with that but I won't because snowmobiles aren't even sold here.

I used to often up in Conway NH and ME. But now not as much as I would enjoy a warm fire and some bourbon next to my fire with my future ex wife.

We had a snowmobile when I was in high school. My father bought it from a friend who was riding it and he hit a bump and fell off. Snowmobiling lost it's appeal to him after that. It was nor fancy like the sleds that they have today. No heated seats or handgrips. No electric start either. It had a top speed of maybe 40 MPH.

My best friend had skies and sometimes we would tow each other on skis.

@RandomGirl42 It had a single cylinder YLO engine that put out a whopping 18 HP.. It was made in the 70s/. I sold it to some guys in New Hampshire and as far as I know they are still using it.

I've never driven one, but I've rode on one with someone else once. It was a guy I was casually dating. He was big into motor cycles, but I have a no motor cycle rule, well he convinced me to try a snowmobile. And I was holding on to him harder then I've ever held onto anyone before... which probably was his goal. I didn't fall off or get hurt, but 0/5 would not do again.

I use to but my mom had l alzheimer's. dementia and I let her move in with me because she didn't want to live with my sister and nephew anymore.

But had to get rid of all my toy as I wasn't able to work as much anymore and especially the last 18 months of her life

Well i grew up in Alaska, when I as about 12 my dad brought home our new kiddo, it was a powered by a335 cc motor and we lived out of town so I could ride it all over. My friends all had them to Polaris, snow jet ; arctic cat and even a big old mercury which weighed a ton but had reverse. . I have been thinking about buying one this yar but not sure what.

Nope, never been snowmobiling. I'm more of a cross country, back country, ski and snowshoe guy. Slow but reliable and fun. You can go almost anywhere. And you're working hard enough that cold isn't an issue.

Not since I left WI, we grew up on snowmobile trails in the winter and on lakes in the summer. I bet my dad wishes he could have the money he pissed away on boat's and snowmobiles.

We don't usually get enough snow in the mountains here for snowmobiles. Every once in a while it will drop like 7 feet of snow over the weekend up in a place called Big Bear
