That's pretty common in Florida. There's Marley Fest, the Hip-Hop Festival, Ultra Electronic Music Festival, Calle Ocho, etc. all outdoors in Miami. Sunfest is outdoor in West Palm Beach, There is an outdoor amphitheaters at Mizner Park in Boca Raton that has regular outdoor concerts, there are outdoor amphitheaters at local universities that have regular outdoor concerts. I think most of the concerts I have been to are outdoors.

Yes! Lots of times. In San Francisco during the hippie days the most popular bands played free concerts in Golden Gate Park.
My friends and I always found great places to see the bands up close but we had to sit in the trees, which was cool 😎

Yes, quite a few. I have been to concerts in large stadiums and others in just big fields. I saw Jimmy Buffet at a place that just had a bunch of picnic tables. I sat right up front and had my boots up on the stage. I saw Gordon Lightfoot at a natural amphitheater. We just sat an a blanket and had a picnic lunch. It was awesome.

Yes, and I even played quite a few.
The ones I went to were about the same as any indoor concert except that they were outside. In a couple cases, after the concert, they shot off fireworks over where the concert was.
If you've ever seen "Woodstock" or video of any other outdoor concert, that's what it's like except that you don't get the various camera angles and edits that are made.

They can be very nice if the weather cooperates, especially in venues with seating. I've been to some where you have to run to claim a spot on the ground at the beginning of a festival and have to sit through several performances before the headliner show starts many hours later. I won't go to those kind again.
