Have you ever gone to a concert by your own? How was it?

50 cent is coming to Germany next week and I wanna go but nobody wants to come with me and they even tried to talk me out of it and one especially but he going to two festivals and I should do nothing or what... ughh anyways I still got my ticket and I'm going lol
but it's going to be my first concert ever and alone too, I'm little nervous, cause I have no idea how concerts work and what I have to do or know or whatever haha

I am an avid concert goer and I always go alone. I actually prefer it as no one has the same music interest as I do and concerts help me step out of my shell and be my complete full self with reckless abandon haha.

You might feel lonely at first as you're waiting for the venue to fill up or the headliner to go on but you can use that time to start up a conversation with people nearby. It should be easy since you will already have something in common, the artist! so gushing about the artist should be a great conversation starter to help segway to getting to know more about them and hopefully gain new acquaintances that way.

Now for some tips on how to enjoy your first concert.

- Keep in mind the start time for the event and try to get there at LEAST 30 minutes before the doors is scheduled to open given that you're going to see such a high-profile artist like 50 cent. This will help you beat the rush of the lines and ensure that you get a good seat or standing position at the venue.
-Get your drink at the beginning of the venue when you arrive and bottle of water to prevent dry mouth which will be exacerbated if its an indoor venue due to frequent dehumidifiers that will be on in the background nonstop.
- Dress in comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting stepped on aat least a few times because they WILL get stepped on! god forbid a spontaneous mosh pit to ensue.😩
- Try not to wear many layers because you will actually get hot if you're one who is not afraid to dance or vibe to the music... PLEASE DONT BE AFRAID TO DANCE TO THE MUSIC!
-Not wearing many layers will always help determine if you need to do coat check or not which can be an annoying cost.
- If you're going to record footage of it do it on your phone as a traditional camera will most likely be confiscated. Also make sure your phones flash is NOT on. I did that at my first concert and got some many lovely death stares, ha!
-Most importantly have fun, be yourself, please dance and sing the lyrics of your fave songs with reckless abandon. As you might inspire those around to do the same who may feel to shy and join you ( always happens to me. 😆)

Omg I would love to c him! I love concerts and I have never seen 50 Cent! We have this big Summerfest here and it started yesterday but many of the people coming I don't know b/c, well, I am going to b 37. lol 2mro is little Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Wu Tang but.. kids 2day are crazy. I am not going to get shot. My husband and I like totally different music. He likes his cumbia and rock and I like rap/hip hop/funk. We still tolerate each other's choices. I went to Bon Jovi. He's been to Ice Cube and Bone Thugs w/me. Now he's gtg c 2 Chainz next wk w/me and I'll tolerate Stone Temple Pilots. Find a guy like that. Otherwise, if he wouldn't go w/me, I would go alone. Fuck it! I couldn't miss that sexy 50 Cent! lol He still look good 2 me! (people say he got fat?)

Yeah quite a few, there is a difference between say a concert hall, a stadium and an open air festival.

all have a unique atmosphere and being on your own is fine.

if it’s just a one day, one night thing then it’s simple and you just dress for the gig.

other than evening concerts / gigs I tend to end up chatting to people and making “friends”

I’ve been to the majority of concerts I’ve been to alone. My friends these days are old and lame and not that into music, so I’m all I’ve got, usually. It’s never been a problem for me, I still rock the fuck out, lmao. Usually I’ll make some “friends” while I’m there, too, I’m pretty outgoing.

I haven't gone to any concerts either but it is easy to see what they are like by watching some videos. They are very public so you are not going to be in any danger. If you are nervous, just stay back. That is what most people do. You don't have to join the almost crazy screaming fans up front.

Yes go to it! You'll have so much fun. Your personal space may be invaded and you'll be touched a lot, but that would happen regardless of it you went alone

I used to work in the music industry and have been to or worked hundreds if not thousands of concerts. Just like a bar, don't leave your drink unattended. Its going to be loud, I usually wear earplugs. As far as getting in, there will be a clear entrance and parking may be both full and expensive so you may want to take an Uber.

Music connects. You simply won't be ''alone''. I went to a few with myself only, and enjoyed it each time. Although for a better experience, I'd recommend ''Rock am Ring'' or ''Wacken'' :)

My first concert was Warped Tour 2008 it was my brother and his girlfriend at the time. I went to my first concert by myself in 2005 and it was August Burns Red, Wage War, Stick To Your Guns and Polynia. My next concert was Switchfoot and Relient K in 2016. It was cool as I got to meet the band before the show with a Meet and Greet and got a picture.

i did. When I was in college Eric Anderson came to campus. I could not find anyone that wanted to go with me so I went by myself. He was really good and I was glad I went.

Yep, saw Apocalyptica/Subway to Sally/ and most recently Dir en Grey live. Its not ideal, but once the band starts you can't talk to your friends anyway.
