10 favorite Christmas songs

This is not a top ten but a select few that I enjoyed that were/ are not exactly on the radio that much during Christmas, maybe one or two but they have a special touch to me.

1. Shake Up Christmas - Train

Shake up Christmas is special to me because first it was part of a coke commercial and second its a love story if you watch the video it is really sweet.

2. A Christmas to Remember - Amy Grant

This song is sweet to me because it captures the great parts of Christmas into one song. It is poetic and inspirational.

3. My Grown Up Christmas List - Kelly Clarkson

I like this song mainly for the lyrics there was a crappy video done before with better audio but it was a slideshow of what this meant in reality and showed soldiers in other counties among other things. It is a powerful song and one that I wish and hope for as well.

4. Hard Candy Christmas - Dolly Parton

I will say this it is a movie about a whore house but but I feel everyone of them in song, they are making the best of bad situation and they all have to move on with their lives but they are picking up the pieces and you can see they some how find a way to move on. It is a bit depressing but it shows how one can cope during the holiday season

5. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Song - Mavis Staples

The song is upbeat and that cartoon never gets old.

6. Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer - Elmo & Patsy

It is a pretty well known song but I think its genius might not be thought of as much, it is pretty dark but it helps you to laugh at the drama during the holidays and it is just wacky enough to give you a laugh.

7. It's Christmas All Over The World - Sheena Easton

This is a Classic movie that I am not sure many people know about but that song just makes me feel warm and hopeful even though I have not heard it in such a long time.

8. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - Nsync

GARY COLEMAN!!!! WTF!!! but anyways this is a great song, it has a lot of energy and makes you feel good when you listen to it.

9. Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon

This is such a calming and relaxing song and just brings me joy and peace and the video is breath taking

10. Merry Christmas Darling - Karen Carpenter aka the Carpenters

Yeah, this gets a little radio air play but it I just get so lost in it, the melody and vocals just get me in the right place and the speed is perfect too, it just feels so intimate.
