My mom always complained about Christmas and as a kid I never understood why but now as an adult I agree with her 100% lmao

I think it’s both fun and stressful and the intensity changes throughout the holiday season. It’s the most stressful when I have to buy gifts, especially when I don’t know what to get someone, I’m low on funds, and trying to get it shipped before Christmas. Although, I love when I figure out the perfect gift to get someone and seeing how much they appreciate it. I love looking at the Christmas lighting on homes at night and I enjoy decorating my tree. I do like the get togethers once everything is figured out (dinner, who is visiting who, no drama, etc)

It’s stressful, but easier the earlier you start to prepare.
As a mother, it was down to me to get most of the gifts bought and wrapped. The decorations were mostly my job with some help for the ‘high bits’ and of course, the cooking was done by me, with help prepping the veggies!
I remember a few years where work shifts finished Christmas Eve and I had so much to do when I got home. Went to bed shattered after midnight only to be woken up early by the children. Not forgetting to leave their stocking t the bottom of their bed would have been worse! At least they could open shit in the early hours while I tried to get some shut eye!

I find it mostly stressful now. Having to get gifts for everyone on a very tight budget, figuring out where the majority of the family is going to be, dealing with relatives I don't wanna see but have to on the holidays... it's a lot. And I'm not a big fan of Christmas movies or music so they just kinda get on my nerves when they're all I hear all day. If it was kept to December only I think I'd like it more. But I hate that I start seeing Christmas stuff in October

It hasn't been a fun thing since I was a child. I hate the whole thing and would not bother with it normally but I go along with it for the family and have as little to do with it as possible. When I tell people I hate it they assume I'm a miserable sod but I'm not.

Oh it's definitely stressful! Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but between getting gifts for everyone and spending extra money... all while trying to look happy while doing so? Sucks!

I was grumbling yesterday putting the tree up! It's too much work and money involved in Christmas.
The only people that truly enjoy Christmas are kids: they don't really have anything to stress over except hoping they get all the gifts they want!

I love to get togethers sending cards and all that christmasy fun stuff. the thing it's hardest for me is buying presents like you. I usually just give my family money and buy my little niece and nephew something

Yes. 😔 Now that I'm an adult I realize how much there is to do and how little time there is to get it all done. No matter how soon I start prepping and planning it always seems to catch me by surprise.
I miss the magic feeling Christmas used to give me when I was a kid!

Personally, it's a mix, the beginning of it is with all the lights and the tree and stuff, but gifting and all that is chill and I enjoy it.
