I have a busy three weeks at work before Christmas. I am president of an alumni association and we have an annual holiday party in December. I am president of my congregation and we have two major annual meetings in December. I have already attended two concerts and will attend a live performance of the Nutcracker next weekend. I have planned a Christmas lunch for my office. I will spend time with my mother. I sing in my church choir and we have a major performance on Christmas Eve. I am taking my girlfriend to a cabin in the mountains between Christmas and New Years. And I am close to proposing to her; that may happen on Christmas Eve.

Yeah I call them but never get to see them much since they live in Florida and New Jersey with their own family, it’s so hard to get everyone together even on the holidays

I plan on staying home this year because I'll have Christmas off. I usually go to a party and drink, but this year I want to do things a little different. I may have a glass of wine, but definitely won't be going all out. Lol

A couple visits to Christmas shows, etc. for nearby daughter and her family. Farther away daughter will be visiting us for a couple days, stay for the weekend. Christmas Candlelight service on Saturday night, dinner on Sunday, hang with family on Monday, exchange gifts on Monday, collapse on Tuesday. (well, maybe not the last two).

Got a "pussy" party the weekend before, then over mums Christmas eve and to the pub, back home and to the pub, then Christmas day and drinking at home with SIL, then over other SIL boxing day and then home to look after the dogs, then some Axe throwing and then a new year dress up party... phew

We have a tradition. Christmas Eve we have the Italian feast of the Seven Seafoods. My grandmother and then my aunt have been doing this for many years and when she died my wife has taken it over.

Feast of the Seven Fishes is an Italian-American tradition that takes place on Christmas Eve. In Italy, it's a fasting day called La Vigilia, a day for abstinence from meat... until Christmas Day, and then there is a big mid-day meal of pasta with meats.
In America, Italians brought this tradition to Little Italy in New York, sometime in the late 1800's. Why seven fishes? It may be from the Catholic Seven Sacraments or named from the Seven Hills of Rome. No one is quite sure.
There are some very traditional fishes that are served here in the U. S... eels, baccala (salt cod), calamari (squid), shrimp, mussels & clams and more.
From the 1800's, fast forward to 2022. Most families who celebrate this feast, will be doing so with seven of their family's favorite seafood recipes.
