Hmm, I am in another country. So, I would have to say yes. This wasn't just for the holidays but that was part of it. We are spending the month here, not only for the wedding on New Years, but also to spend Christmas holiday.
It is something that I have only experienced once (last year), and it was not exactly like what most would consider a traditional Christmas. Sure, we did Christmas type things, but I am told that it is just different in a country that celebrates that holiday (most people anyhow).
I have already seen all the decorations in the city and the lights everywhere. It is so fascinating to see everything lit up. All the houses have lights all over. Really neat to drive around at night and see all the work people put into their decorations. It is also quite unique because it is summer here. Most people I have talked to associate that holiday with snow and cold weather. Here, it is warm and sunny most days.
So, technically yes I do travel for the holidays, though I doubt that will be the case going forward once we are more permanently settled after getting married.

  @bigpauly do you just get a bonsai Christmas tree for ease of decorating, or do you just put decorations around the bottom of a normal Christmas tree?

I live in India where most people do not celebrate Christmas and my college does not give us winter holidays. We have two holidays - one on Christmas Day and the other is on New Year's, that's pretty much it. My uncle's wedding is tomorrow, so I will be going there for 3 days. Not sure if that could be considered as a "holiday", lol but they've booked us rooms in a nice resort near the beach.
When I was in high school, there was something called "Winter Vacations" and they gave us a holiday for 10 days. My family and I used to take small road trips back then. It was fun!

No "big" plans. I'm on business travel this week but home after that. We're going to my wife's aunt's house an hour south of us on Christmas day. My wife might be traveling to her sister's for the holiday but other than those no travel.
