What's your favorite Black Friday/ Christmas shopping memory?

I remember when I was like 8-10 years old when stores would open at like 4-5 am on Black Friday and it was actually a frenzy. I remember the stores would hand out free promotional gifts like Reindeer antler headbands, Frosty the Snowman snow globes and such.. Nowdays it's nothing like that.

Before the pandemic, I never cared about Black Friday and I'm not sure I even knew what it was until around 8 years ago. My favourite Black Friday memory is this year where I got the best honey I ever dreamed of and 600+ bags of discounted tea. I also got a meat thermometer at 44% off for measuring the temperature of my food, which I plan on using for home cooked meals.

My family and I never went Black Friday shopping. As far as Christmas, I cherish the time after my parents and I would come back from my grandmothers house on Christmas Eve and snack, open some gifts, maybe watch a couple of movies. I’m lucky that to this day this is still the tradition.

When my kids were little i used to make an early sales call and afterwards meet my wife at the toy store. we would go through the aisles and load up a couple of shopping carts with toys and put the whole thing on the credit cards and spend the next year paying them off. Rinse and repeat.

I remember back in 2008 my mom, me and my brother and his boys went Black Friday shopping. We went to Best Buy and the line was wrapped around the store about 3 blocks. After that we went to Target and was able to get our gifts which was a DS Lite for $120.

My favorite? Days off to spend time doing nothing. Just chit chatting with my siblings about investments, good food, travel and our kids…
Went to Macy's one year with my older sister…I hated it. Didn’t buy anything.

Here in my country, they are trying to imitate the west with a black Friday but it's different and in the past we never had a black Friday,
The only BLACK Friday i knew was the black primitive man from robinson crusoe's story 😂😂
