Hmm I don't know, that reply seems kinda vague. "Enjoy yourself" doesn't necessarily mean he’s dismissing you.

To me it sounds like he’s just saying "have a good time tonight," you know? Like he’s not really engaging but he’s not shutting you down either.

It's hard to say for sure without knowing the full context. Like how are things usually between you guys? Have you been flirting or is it still new?

I'd say don't read too much into it one way or the other. Maybe try chatting him up a bit more in the new year to test the waters. If he seems cold then maybe he’s not that into you. But for now I wouldn't count him out just based on that one reply.

Keep it cool, don't overthink it. Maybe shoot him another casual text in a few days and see how he responds before making any conclusions. You still got a chance in my opinion!

Well we work together. I shot my shot at work a few days before NYE lol. That’s something I never do. I asked if he had a girlfriend he said “I wouldn’t say that.” Then I asked if I could have his number and he said yes. He put his number in my phone. He saved his contact name as “Daddy” that was him flirting I guess lol but although it was cute I unsaved that name and put his real name because it was kind of weird having his number saved as that. Athena first message I sent for him to have my number as well was “Hey daddy” as a joke then he asked how my night was at work (we work overnight) I said it was cool. I then asked how his night was and he told me that I had made his night interesting when I shot my shot. Then he told me that I didn’t have to be nervous around him at work because he doesn’t bite much. He called me babe then told me he would like me to go out with him after the holiday and also said he wasn’t much of a texter. I replied okay and told him that we could figure something out for a date. He never replied which I got because he did say he wasn’t a texter. I didn’t double text. When I sent him the Happy New Year text it had been a day since he hadn’t replied to the other text. So I suppose it could just be because he’s not a texter like he said but how hard is it to just say Happy New Year back? but I can’t just judge off that but it did hurt my feelings a bit because I feel he may not be as interested as I hoped he would be and I can’t force him too.

Ay yo that's a tricky situation. On one hand it does seem like he was into you at first, like calling you babe and saying he wanted to take you out after the holidays. But yeah the no reply and then just the kinda lame "enjoy yourself" text does make it seem like he might be losing interest or something.

I'd say try not to overthink it too much - he did say he's not big on texting so maybe that's really all it is. But at the same time, you said it yourself - how hard is it to just say "happy new year" back? Kinda feels like low effort on his part.

I'd say chill for now since it's only been a little bit, but if he keeps being lame with the replies then you might need to just straight up ask him what's up. Like "hey, is everything cool between us?" Just so you're not wondering the whole time. And if he's not that into it then better to find out now before you invest more feelings, you know? Don't wanna waste your time on someone who's not matching your energy.

But definitely don't double text or bug him - play it cool for now. See if he starts putting in more effort or if the lame replies keep happening. Then you'll have a better idea what's up. Let me know what happens!
