Have you ever stood in the freezing cold and how did you feel?

It's that time of year and thankfully, we have a holiday to distract us from the cold, and make it tolerable.

Some though in history marched long ways, only to stop and be executed after piling up clothes. Can only imagine how people felt herded up and seeing what was going on. Row after row of people were gunned down in WWII Ukraine and Latvia.

It's hard to believe that was real life for some people.

I can only say, life may be tough where you are at now, but can still be thankful it isn't this bad,... and work towards being better life.

The babi-yar massacre in Kiev Ukraine was larger in size, 33,771 approximate killed Nov 30 to Dec 8th.

These are not pretty pictures, but the question stands... have you ever stood in the snow, and can you relate to how these people would feel?

Not that I feel bad for the country of Russia. But there are good people, human beings that live in Russia as well. But I read a few days ago how Ukraine struck a power plant that power a good portion of Moscow and that tens of thousands of people were without power.

Yes, whenever i watch videos of the war in Ukraine I'm struck by the war juxtaposed with the people going about there daily lives in Ukraine. Liked people pumping gas at a gas station. A gas station clerked showed up to work that day making a low wage, meanwhile there are missile strike exploding off in the distance. It's surreal!

It also makes me think of a quote by Mark Twain. "Man is the only animal that blushes -- or needs to". Because we're born in to this world. Some of us into resources. But regardless we all have the ability to help one another, or exploit the weaknesses of others. We are not animals. We have no excuse regardless of our situation to behave like animals.

Huh? Records say that on babyn yar 150k were killed, 33k of whom were jews.

It is estimated that temperatures on babyn yar were as low as negative 20 degrees celsius. Where i am at, it is right now colder than that. ㅤ

Living in the cold climate that I do, yes, many times but mostly waiting for the bus for 18 years and depending on the weather it was sometimes quite late and I felt like I wanted to just hibernate every winter I could like I am mostly able to do this year.

Temperature is just a number. Once you add on wind chill and humidity levels it will actually feel twice as bad.

My brother and I used to get into our boxers and then sprint into a field on the first real snow of every year to see who would turn back first. The loser had to jump into a pile of snow

I regularly slept with snow in my bedroom as a child. It was great. I wish my wife didn't hate broken windows so I could sleep comfortably

It doesn't get very cold here, but I used to work outside all night driving a forklift during wintertime for a couple years. I also was a doorman at a couple bars and had to sit outside until 2:00 in the morning year round. Over 150,000 people were massacred at Babi Yar. Ukrainians, Russians, and Romani , at least 33,000 Jewish Ukrainians. Just lined up in front of a ravine and shot.
