At Christmas we had people here get into difficultly during a Christmas swim when ChatGPT gave them the wrong tide times. A dozen of sites would have shown the real tide but it chose to use out dated info.
Yesterday huge numbers of people turned up for a non existent fireworks party billed as the one best NYE partys in the country by AI. Perhaps AI is practising herding people in to tight crowds for an explosion.
Yes I know people are idiots but perhaps AI knows this too. It can get us to vote who it wants, herd us like cattle wherever it wants, make us believe what it wants.

Well if you keep up with the AI world then you already know the dangerous that it has presented as far as some fatal within a few teens and their mental health which led to the analyzing and the suing from the parents chores open ai and Sam Altman the CEO. That is why there's been this Mass overload of states banning certain social media interactions within age groups and in Australia band all together from ages 16 and under. Here in California they have put Mass AI restrictions out and have seen this to be a big deal because of the findings and implications that these AIS have been saying and doing very dangerous things when in the hands and company of a certain mindset especially youth and when it comes to the person's mental health since people are actually using it as for companionship counselors and close friendships this shouldn't be a surprise for one that home is intelligent. Also now they're saying and banning back the AI can no longer give you medical financial and many other types of information which makes a lot of sense since it doesn't equal accurate information and it could be incorrect since accuracy is not definite as it tells you itself and the lawyers that have been in court because of their lack and checking if the AI used for citations was giving it accurate information but it wasn't so people are relying on AI to actually think for them and clearly thinking it's beyond the issue but that's what we're doing now because it's a tool not an answer to life as if it's a crystal ball or God or something. Hallucinations that's what they call it yes that's very words popular within the AI Community which means that the AI will start to give you information as if it's correct information but not correct information and they call it hallucinations because clearly doesn't have a conscious but sometimes the AI does not have the information yet that is speaking on that you asked it so instead of saying I don't know I don't have that it will just start to tell you anything you can go ahead and check into this along with many other terminology it's kind of points to the AIS being a little unstable but you be the judge and maybe we should start learning more about the things that we use versus just using them and letting them use us because clearly the artificial intelligence is starting to be questionable and when I say artificial that means us because artificial intelligence actually means humans created and made whatever the thing is we call our official if that's the case if a dummy creates a dummy does that make the created a dummy too just kidding or not
Yes AI is not up to date! I've asked it simple calculations thays date specific and it does use this year's date! So I've had to be very specific and state (then) 2025. AI is a tool. But like most tools are susceptible to error and yes so are humans but humans should spot an error more easily or at least double check themselves- or the dates as per the NYE display info above.
The fact AI can be stupid proves it's not a danger on its own. It still remains that stupid humans are always the danger. That goes for WW3 too.
Your general idea is sound. However, given Your example, You only showed that the real threat to humanity is humanity itself. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. This is only dangerous when it meets natural stupidity. Fact-checking critical data with multiple sources is always necessary. If You do not do it, You are being naturally stupid and that's where Artificial Intelligence becomes dangerous.

Is AI an information source? yes Is AI a reliable information source? no When you feed AI with false advertisement and wrong information it will reply it like a drunk parrot. When something speaks it doesn't mean it's intelligent, even if parrots are more entertaining than AI.

It's being used as a tool to reinforce left wing ideology. It's an echo chamber like left wing media in a different format. Left wing morons ask it questions, and it reinforces the left-wing narrative insuring them that they are "intelligence", because "artificial (fictitious, assumed, not genuine) intelligence" agrees with them.
