A I. is an oxymoron, just like military intelligence, computer intelligence, Central intelligence 👉Yeah, I've been questioned by those guys before, not as intelligent as the name implies. Especially when they press me on classified military info. and get pressed back by Army Intelligence --ha, ha!👈 anyway, true intelligence comes from being able to recognize and apply a value system or recognize significance in something. Crunching raw data is not intelligence, and no man made computing system on Earth is intelligent. Can a computer learn to recognize a red light is a signal to stop at a traffic intersection? Yes can they learn why this is necessary yes can they understand why a bunch of dead kids on the bus is not a good thing to happen maybe someday but by then those machines will not be computers anymore, they would be life forms, or synthetic life.
Artificial intelligence will never exist because it is a contradiction in terms. Synthetic life is already been created and the experiments were somewhat puzzling to find alarge mechanical insect trying to climb a tree after escaping a lab to escape an angry, chattering squirrel. This, I suppose is understandable if not somewhat comical. I myself have been confronted by angry fat squirrels that want me to stop sweeping they're free nuts sand corn away but I had a job to do and they were fat so they didn't need all that extra food anyway. Still who knew that the first documented synthetic life form would be giant mechanical insect trying to get away from an agitated squirrel who wanted a piece of that poor mechanical critter that didn't know what it wasn't where it was it just wanted to get away from the lab and want to get away from that squirrel. This was not artificial intelligence, this was synthetic life a masterpiece of mechanical engineering that went into creating a nervous system and a basic brain chemistry for a machine that was even dumber than my pet lizard spas and he was pretty stupid but at least he knew why it was a good idea to flush the toilet when he got done using the commode that mechanical insect didn't know why it wanted to get out of that web and it didn't know why it wanted to get away from that squirrel it just knew that the web text that we're working on him would jerks and that that squirrel was also a jerk and he didn't want any part of either one of them a three-year-old child could do the same without being able to tell you exactly why he or she knows these things about someone or something that they don't want to be around but then again maybe stupid life forms what is synthetic or organic are this smarter than we give them credit for. And maybe the most advanced numerical computational system of whatever no matter how many competitions a second it can process no matter how many billions of terrorquads of raw data it can process collate and compartmentalize for others to decide what to do with that information maybe they're not as far as we think they are because they need to know nor care what is done with this information once they have done their part to refine that information for our use and benefit. I'll be honest with you a computing system doesn't give a crap whether or not you get your paycheck in the payroll department of any given business and or commercial entity it just does what it needs to do what was programmed to do so that you get paid. That's all the people that are using that information care about, which is more than can be said for the computers that make that process a possibility. Artificial intelligence is anything but in synthetic life is a long way from becoming self-aware inorganic life forms but when they get there he's not going to be that much different than a human child which may or may not receive the right education in the right upbringing and may or may not have the right role models to make social responsible decisions into no difference between right and wrong. There's an episode of the hour limits it won't showed some Androids that start murdering people because of the bad influences that the people that created them and were around them had set for them and like all children they learn from their parents and they make the same mistakes appearance dear because they will invite example. That is the future of non-carbon-based intelligent life forms human made man-made constructs they're going to be just available and just as vulnerable to stupidity as we are, especially if we make them in our own image and we already are so yeah we're screwed.

    If it's isolated, no.

But combined with technology in general, increasing processing power, and the Internet, I think it can be extremely dangerous. I think we've crossed a point of no return.

One big danger is that the rapid advances in technology over the last 30+ years has happened so fast, that nobody has seriously taken the time to ask "Is this a good idea?" and "What are the potential pitfalls?". We were awed by all the cool tech, and dove right in without enough human experience to know what we were getting into.

We still don't know what we've gotten ourselves into.

With AI, we are rapidly reaching a point that you won't be able to tell the difference between AI and a human. With the Internet, and the massive spying and data collection, our digital fingerprints will become so detailed that we won't be able to tell the difference between AI and our spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, or child - even if we are talking to them face to face.

We already have tech that mimics a person's facial expressions, mannerisms and voice. The tech will not stop there. It WILL continue in that direction. I don't think it's a question of IF we will reach the point that we can't tell the difference between AI and a loved one, but when.

The danger comes when people put too much faith into the intelligence part. A proof reader for a magazine would hopefully spot the error but would a housewife?

The big problem is it gets it's data from the internet and the internet is full of nonsense. Shit in shit out as they say. I wouldn't be surprised if dark forces are spiking the internet with dangerous things designed to be picked up by AI

Depends any type of A. I. given a pretty decent body with good capabilities and is inputted with lots of information making it smarter than lots of people can become dangerous if it also has machine learning added. Other than that, A. I can be pretty helpful.

it depends. it depends on who operates it. who creates it. we've had A. I. in our lives for decades. some of it is fine. of course programming mistakes can happen, and of course the malice could be the intent of the creator. but AI can also be very beneficial

Its a weapon can be dangerous and can be amazing. The last 20 or 30 years was the internet age. The next is ai age. Art and science will develop in a crazy way after ai. Innovation will be beyong anything we imagine. Ai will develop everything rather quickly.

There is a possibility that once it achieved true Artificial intelligence that it will be dangerous. As it currently stands, entering a set of instructions can easily end up having unintended consequences. Annoying aspects are companies are trying to replace human creativity with AI.

Yes, very - not because its super-intelligent but because AI generated content will make it difficult to find reliable information. I also worry that evil people will use AI generated statements to justify horrible actions

No, most people have the common sense to know that the recipe wasn't food... And the people who don't have that common sense... Well probably don't know how to use AI in the first place 😂

AI is not inherently dangerous. It will probably be used by the government to gather more information about everyone and to further erode our constitutional rights

Only because it’s still in major development, which is common in technology and such. Robots will not try to enslave the human race. lol
