While AI made it possible to speak with a loved one that passed away, can it also be dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands and ruin relationships?

For instance lets say if someone vengeful got a hold of your picture or videos, they use Deepfakes app and present a fake picture or video of you cheating on your partner. It's scary but that can actually be done. Someone can distort your images and post them. Then others and your partner sees it but you really didn't cheat. But hey the pictures and videos (even though they're all fake) are there, they're seeing it with their own eyes after all. Then no one believes you didn't cheat at all, that everything is fake.

So overall, has technology advanced so much that it can even be dangerous for relationships? Now it's difficult to tell a real video, image from a fake one.

Well I can try to entertain your situation. All it matters to me is that I didn't do it.
Therefore, what others think is irrelevant to me. If it destroys any relationship, that alone proves that it was not built on solid foundation. Therefore, it doesn't matter. Why would it matter?

As for deepfakes and stuff - no, deep fakes are not that convincing yet. And while they will get more and more convincing the human eye, as the technology gets better, so do the AI detection bots. Deep Fakes will most likely be detectable by the same AI you're worried about.

But storage is not an issue. You can set it up to save one frame per second as opposed to standard 30fps.

Imagine, 2k QHD video with H265+ compression can fit 24 hours of 30fps video onto a 30gb sd card.

Go from 30fps to a pic per second and one such $1 sd card lasts you an entire month.

This is decent quality, and 1 frame per second is also enough to monitor just about anything that doesn't involve fast flying UFOs or something.

Yeah but if we’re talking safety I don't know is 1fps would make the cut. In this case of cheating it’s doable but other cases of safety or every day life on usage of 1fps and that being enough is debatable.

It completely disregards the time in between.

BUT I like your idea. Def seems cost effective.

@Rosexøxø I'm not sure such body cams are even sold. H265"+" codec isn't even a default of any recorder I've seen, they're only regular H265. And filming it at full framerate just to reduce it and recompress to a new codec would be draining batteries.

So the most cost effective way would be an old smartphone you already have and record it natively at whichever desired frame rate.

To prove yourself innocent in a false rape accusation, even a frame per 5 seconds should suffice.

To secretly film someone else having sex, you could make a good setup with a multi terabyte hard disk and KWH battery undetectable by using an external wired camera. The entire thing could be hidden under the floor or inside drywall, but only the camera is pulled into an inactive wall electrical outlet socket, seeing through the slit.

If you want more fps then get a regular cheap body cam, but strap a larger battery onto it because those don't last long anyway.

@Rosexøxø I also see legitimate 2 tb sd cards when on sale as low as $20. That's 60 times more space than mentioned before, so you could have 15 FPS which is good enough to clearly see what punches whom during a fight, at QHD 2k, with the mentioned compression format it would fit 4 months nonstop. Or if you need audio then 3.5 months.

Exactly. AI can be dangerous and nasty on the wrong hands. It's that now the ''seeing to believe'' can now be fooled by fake images and videos.
I assume the culprit that does that will eventually be discovered and receive prison time for it. Though by the time, everything gets cleared out, your relationship, reputation and mental well being has been destroyed.
