Which is worse, unrequited love or a breakup?

Do you think the pain from unrequited love or a breakup is worse? Which one have you been able to get past, and which one has haunted you for years to come? Personally, having dealt with breakups, I know it’s difficult - but unrequited love is something you may or may not ever get to experience and the “what if” scenario might be just as bad, or even worse. If you’ve experienced either, feel free to share your feelings for those who are dealing with a breakup or unrequited love. Happy New Year!

I've experienced both, but unrequited love is detectable and you can end it real soon. Accept the fact that the other person doesn't love you in the same way you love them. You can tell early on when someone doesn't love you like you love them and go on with your life and say "Oh well, you can't force someone to love you."

But a break-up is totally different, especially if the other person broke up with you.
You end up lovesick, can't eat or eat too much, can't sleep, life basically sucks for a while or a long time.

I've dealt with both. The unrequited love is bad and it took me over 7 years to get over but a breakup is worse because it's real and final. You've actually been with the person, given your heart to that person only for it not to work out. It's worse and I'm still trying to get pass it after a year and some months. I hope it doesn't last as long as the heartache of the unrequited love did but I feel it just might.

Unrequited love is worse... people who had a breakup at least had a relationship.
