Because when people go by their own selfish desires rather than God's will, it only leads to a life of foolish pointlessness and confusion.
God knows infinitely more than all of the minds of the earth combined. Trusting in Him and doing life His way is one of the wisest things any human being can do. Don't be deceived and enslaved by the desires of your flesh, because all your flesh wants to do is wreak havoc and die. Don't be conformed to the world, but be transformed through the renewal of your mind, so that you'll be able to know all the awesomely good things God wants for your life!
God bless you, man; and seek to know our savior Jesus Christ!
Because the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God, breathed out by God himself. The humans who put God's Word in writing were vessels of God's will, none of their selfish desires were ever involved with the writing of the manuscripts because God's Word is holy, completely separate from sin.
Let's say your friend's sister sends you a text through your friend's phone. When you read it, if you really knew how your friend wrote and worded text messages, you would easily discern that the text message was not really written by your friend, but rather somebody else. That kind of thing happens, because the more you know somebody, the easier it is to recognize things that come from him.
Same thing goes with knowing God. If you really take the time to get to know the character of the living God and His attributes, you would clearly see how the scriptures reflect that character unlike the works of any mere human author and recognize it came from Him.
Your original question was, "How do I know what is the Word of God?" Not, "What is the evidence for God?" (Let me answer that question in my next reply) Those are completely different questions, needing completely different answers; asking how to know what is the Word of God would presuppose the existence of God.
Nevertheless, I should have provided scripture references to support what I was saying, and I do apologize for that. Here's not my word, but the Word of God that confirms the divine inspiration of scripture:
2 Timothy 3:16 - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," 1 Thessalonians 2:13 - "(...), when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe." 2 Peter 1:21 - "(...) holy men of God spake as they were moved by Holy Ghost."

@Sitnikoff and how exactly do I know what is the word of god if the only other sources for him are humans like you with their "selfish desires?"

So do your best to know Him; that's how!
@Sitnikoff that still ignores the fact that everything you said was the word of a faulty human. Nothing there serves as evidence for God.
@Sitnikoff proof that the Bible is the word of God?

@Sitnikoff so you accept it as the word of God just because it says it is?
@Sitnikoff "Here's not my word, but the Word of God"
Nope. You can't prove that.
and women are suppose to submit
Of course. Men and women are both supposed to submit to one another. (Eph 5:21)
but you gotta understand women don't submit so why should serve them
Let me guess.
You're american?
The Bible says a lot of shit.
I think men know this for the most part.
Leaders are servants.
I like the Song of Songs myself.
I see what you did there :D
there is nothing stated about servitude.
I agree with this post.
