Relationships now days aren't the same anymore.. people now days have no morals and standards there just awful.. well most people for the most part. Not everyone
now a days i think most people make up their own wedding vows and then break them when a - better , cuter , sexier , wealthier , healthier - person comes along ! how sad ! thanks
My blood mother died horribly of cancer. My father waited at home for the phone to ring. But then... My step mother died of colon cancer in hospice. My father was in the bed with her. She died in his arms.
But if we shouldn't sign things before we read and understand what were signing, shouldn't that also apply to knowing what your getting into before signing on to joining your life with someone and promising your forever? Or just don't get married till they do π€·πΌββοΈ
Actually you are not promising. You are entering into a contract between yourself, them, and the βStateβ. The vow is affirming this contract to be entered which after the exchange both sign a license along with a witness to this contract and they who presided over the ceremony thus binding this contract between you and them βwithβ the State. Thatβs Amore! :p
For once, we disagree... Those words are meant to be a promise to one another, don't utter words, promises you don't mean just for sake of ceremony... Say what you mean and mean what you say... Fuck the piece of paper, or the state... I'm talking the real reason people "vow" to stay together, otherwise... Just don't get married
I am not being cold about this, what I am saying is this is actually contractual as the βStateβ is the third binding party. I know what you mean, donβt misunderstand me here, but this is a contract which is why it takes the State to dissolve the contract and not two people merely walking away. I get your point and again, I am not trying to be cold, this is just the reality of what the βvowsβ are, at least where the State is concerned. Frankly, perhaps if people treated it as a contract people would take the vows more seriously. Just a thought to consider. Devil is in the details. .
The reason to make it official is so when you die, your wife and children get the benefits the state can fuck them out of without that binding contract... Other than that... Agree you shouldn't need a piece of paper to do what you should do for someone if you truly love them
Except they were realistic for all of history. The first evidence of marriage we have is from 2350 BC. If they have managed to have those values for all of those literally thousands of years, then expecting people to be able to handle it now isn't unreasonable.
Yes because the people who made those vows actually followed them when they were created not a single one of them didn't this has been going on forever nothing new it's our access to information that make people think everything is worse now than what it was in the past
I believe you 100% I'm just saying that it didn't get devalued or anything over the years it's always been that way some people follow it some people don't it was never people followed by 100% of the people and then somehow it started to degrade
No I don't think it's worse now, imagine if everyone in the past could have easily gotten something written in a newspaper or whatever anonymously I believe it would be the same
Well more mean I have flaws, I'm in no way perfect. Noone is. Not was my marriage. We fought, we had our bad relationship moments, but we also were always there for another when it really mattered. But nowadays, first hint of trouble and... on to the Next.

Great My Take Toots. Very thoughtfully put together with lots of deep thinking and meaning. Nicely done!
Thank you ππ

Oh I agree there π―
They don't care, madam triple B.
They feel they can just divorce at will if things go bad.
Many times there is adultery and abuse going on. So if there is cheating and beating, they want out also but can't condemn them.
Cheating or abuse are valid grounds for divorce. But if people know that can't stay faithful to one woman or one man, why even get married?
now a days i think most people make up their own wedding vows and then break them when a - better , cuter , sexier , wealthier , healthier - person comes along ! how sad ! thanks
Yes, some people stop trying after marriage and then wonder what went wrong
I agree
So simple, but so well said.
My blood mother died horribly of cancer. My father waited at home for the phone to ring.
But then...
My step mother died of colon cancer in hospice. My father was in the bed with her. She died in his arms.
Have they forgotten them? No. Do they ignore them? Yes.
I agree
beautiful take... yus we have... or we ignore their meanings to suit our character flaws
Well said boi π
maybe they just dont realize what they really signin up for
But if we shouldn't sign things before we read and understand what were signing, shouldn't that also apply to knowing what your getting into before signing on to joining your life with someone and promising your forever? Or just don't get married till they do π€·πΌββοΈ
Never had one, but hearing people talk either they forget or they never meant it in the first place.
These days, yeah I agree.. They out more time effort and energy into the wedding itself but not the marriage
This is beautiful, and so well said!
And you're right, that other woman had no idea what real marriage is
Thank you!! And, Omg right if that even really was a woman and not fake pink account
I hope it wasn't! But it was illogical, sad, and clearly the author had experienced a lot of pain
I would say so.. Both men and women seem to see relationships as something you throw away at the first sign of trouble.
π― agree with you there!!
I never got married nor have i taken any but i do know what an oath is and a promise. And I've always stood by my word. It is my bond.

Still love yah tho πππ

To be frank, they're a bit too unrealistic for most.
Then why include them, or promise those things. What happened to don't make promises you don't intend to keep?
I don't intend to get married.
Except they were realistic for all of history. The first evidence of marriage we have is from 2350 BC. If they have managed to have those values for all of those literally thousands of years, then expecting people to be able to handle it now isn't unreasonable.
That's just my personal view anyway.
Whose that in 5th pic looks non digital and genuine , is it yours or just random?
Just random
Nowadays the whole concept of wedding is just a formality.
If people really wanted to lead a happy life they could've done so without any vows.
True, but whether you say the vows out not that's still the foundation of a healthy living relationship, piece of paper or not
Yes because the people who made those vows actually followed them when they were created not a single one of them didn't this has been going on forever nothing new it's our access to information that make people think everything is worse now than what it was in the past
That's not true, Me and my husband followed those vows and so did, do countless others.
I believe you 100% I'm just saying that it didn't get devalued or anything over the years it's always been that way some people follow it some people don't it was never people followed by 100% of the people and then somehow it started to degrade
Hope I didn't make any typos in that pretty much some people do some people don't that's how it's always been
But you don't think it's getting worse. I do. People are now taking to internet and online what they should be doing/sharing with their spouse only
No I don't think it's worse now, imagine if everyone in the past could have easily gotten something written in a newspaper or whatever anonymously I believe it would be the same
Agree to disagree
Alright
True, true. Marriage is not an easy task, it needs both parties to put the effort. Couples who are in a happy marriage are lucky
They made that luck tho
Yeah, but to get a partner equally genuine as you... is a luck
Aww thanks... Or might be a curse π
Might be, if one lacks humorπ
Well more mean I have flaws, I'm in no way perfect. Noone is. Not was my marriage. We fought, we had our bad relationship moments, but we also were always there for another when it really mattered. But nowadays, first hint of trouble and... on to the Next.
Sea is not always calm and beautiful
Like that analogy ππ have to swim or you'll sink and drown
I meant sailing, but swimming is also good in dangerous situation π€£
Made me think of this song lol

Coolπ, it's goodπ
Till I get that song stuck in my head all day then you better watch out ποΈποΈ
Hahahahaha just kidding π
π π π
Come sail away.. Come sail away... Oh shoot see what I mean lololol ππ actually, really jamming to Prince right now while cleaning...
Given the divorce rate, I sadly think they mostly have
I sadly agree with you
Personally, if I for whatever reason get married I'm going to change the vow to "Till Death or Divorce do us part". It's simply more realistic.
Doesn't have to be...
For me? Most likely haha
