People do the weirdest shit just because they can, and to be different.

You'd have to be a total prissy to do that. If she does much of anything that's not totally dainty, she's going to rip that thing right off her finger along with a bunch of skin and who knows what else. Some people just don't think.

  Whatever it is, I haven’t seen this until now so it must be something new that someone thought would be creative and/or innovative of some sort. Again, it looks ridiculous to me.

If you never use your hands for like.. literally anything at all that does seem like a great idea indeed.
If you do however, like most of us, rely on them performing essential tasks, this just seems like an amazing way to get this piercing stuck and rip your entire finger open :)
