Is $30 too cheap for a ring?

So my girlfriend is sending me ideas for engagement rings but they are only about $30 or less. Is that too cheap?

I'll say I want to get her something expensive but she gets sad because she doesn't like expensive

It really depends on how you feel, but if your girlfriend is sending you ideas for cheap rings and then she gets mad if you get her a cheap ring then you might've dodged a bullet.
