    1. You get to be in charge or not. It's totally up to you.
My recommendation is that you choose to be. Otherwise it's still your fault if or when it fails, which is about 50-50. It's YOUR gamble.

    2. The burden of performance is on the man. If you fail, she will become bored, then shut down sexually, cheat or bail, or any combination of these.

    3. If you get sick or lose your job, or become injured, figure she'll do one of #2.

    4. Any woman can and will dump a perfectly good man if she thinks she can snag a better one - better looking, more powerful, richer. Back to number 2 again.

    5. Bear in mind that EVERYTHING you have been told about women, by women, your mother sister aunts teachers - is ALL a big fat lie.

    6. #2 bear in mind - any woman can and will, fuck any guy they want, any place they want, any time they want. Just ask them!

    7. If you split she gets half your shit. GUARANTEED.

People ask why divorce is so expensive - BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT!!!
Choose wisely, treat kindly. __Dr. Laura

Pain and suffering. Creative and imaginative ways a wife can make a man suffer that never even occurred to said man. Marriage = Suffering.
Who knew there were that many ways to make a man suffer? It's like being in a gulag. You try, you work, you cook, you clean, you take care of the kids, you take care of the house, you attend to your wife, you bestow her with gifts and tell her how wonderful she is, even when she isn't and nothing is ever good enough. She hits you, chokes you, she kicks you in the privates, demeans you, tells you what a horrible father you are and treating her with care only makes her madder. You walk on eggshells and you have nowhere to run. You go out on the porch to get a breath of air so you can calm down and she locks you out. Then you suffer a traumatic injury where you need help because you cannot do the regular things in life, so she cheats on you because you are physically disabled.
I am not sure I could do it again.

THIS. I would stalk her for you if it would help.

@Curmudgeon Nah. She's not worth it. I just don't want to relive it in another person. But it scares me because it was a bait and switch. Mostly nice though dating and engagement, but the ring brought out a monster. The honeymoon period was about 2 days, the switch was immediate, dramatic and permanent. I went from 'sweet' and 'cute' to more disgusting than dogshit in a New York minute... That scares the hell out of me. Because it was such a dramatic shift. It almost seemed plan. I didn't know this until after it all fell apart, but she told my mother on our wedding day, "He's mine now and there's nothing you can do about it." Seriously.

Fair enough. But I WOULD be happy to hit her, choke her, kick her in the privates right back, and then drive or fly out of whatever city you are in. Stalker for hire!

There's always problems. If the other partner doesn't want to work on it then try your best to make yourself happy. Your happiness first before you can make them happy.

For example say you get 0 sleep and is always up with the baby. Your spouse doesn't care. When you try to sleep train the baby your spouse argues with you, calls you names, and tries to stop you. Sleep train anyways.

Another example is money. If you want to save and invest, and your spouse wants to spend recklessly... And you barely make it by... Save and invest anyways.

In other words... Do what is right!! Don't just do something because it makes your spouse happy.

If it was up to my husband all 3 kids would be in bed with us and i would never get sleep. We would eat chocolates and donuts all day with no fruits and veggies and we would have debt up to our eye balls with zero savings.

For a man, the lesson is: do not do it.
In the West, the man is at a complete legal disadvantage.
The family law system has been crafted by Feminists/Marxists to enable any woman, on a whim, to destroy the man to whom she was married (or cohabiting).
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, other than overwhelming legal liability, financial destruction, heartbreak and sexual frustration that awaits men in a marriage today.

That you don’t need to marry someone to love them.

that after divorce you can actually be better friends

that there is too much social expectation placed on marriage
