How do you deal with annoying in-laws?

My sister in law recently had a baby and they're over sending pictures. They also expect us to like all on Facebook. They're becoming really annoying and repetitive with the obsession of the baby. It's bad enough that she keeps talking about herself and the baby all the time to everyone when we visit. Do they understand noone has the interest to listen all day? My husband and I are not in the position to have our own yet. What are your thoughts? Any advice?

1. I don't friend any relatives on facebook. I used to until I realized it was just about endlessly attention whoring for them and I'm not into enabling that kind of behavior. Yeah, you could ask why am I on FB at all... I only check there once every couple of months. Will eventually just cancel the account.
2. Don't say anything about them sending pics.. And make sure you DO send some gifts for the kid and be encouraging because one day when you want kids you probably don't want your relatives to ignore your kid.

There are certain parents out there who act like they are the first couple in history to have a baby. It can get annoying.

Just try to remember it is -- truly -- a life changing experience and your sister-in-law's behavior may not always seem normal or logical. Especially once the sleep deprivation kicks in.

Be happy for them and share their happy memories as long as there’s no harm in that. If it’s their first baby that’s normal for every new parents. Don’t be jealous of her and let those feelings control you. Trust me no matter what you you will come off as the jealous bad guy for saying anything that might hurt her.

You just have to accept them for who they are and learn to get on with them for the sake of your partner.

Yes. Change the subject whenever you get the chance, and don't go on facebook so much, although I realise as I type that, you might want to, just not want to talk to them!

When same happened, with my brothers wife and kids, my family just cut them of and not stopped all contact.

As she had some wore weird issues along the way, like not showing kids due to some superstitions..., but talking about them everywhere and how good they look after kids and that they are the best parents and nobody can do anything better, when kid was born last week...

I’m just annoyed the baby is letting them get enough sleep. They should at least be so sleep deprived with a new baby that they don’t even have the energy to be annoying.
