Do most younger guys hate the idea of marriage?

Do younger guys hate thinking about wedding and marriage? I’m not sure they like the idea of committing to one person one day and marrying them or not.

Funnily, what got me thinking about this was, I was watching a show called 90 day fiancé, and this younger guy (mid twenties) was pretty mean to his fiancé and said he doesn’t share the ‘female fantasy’ of a wedding (even though they’re engaged lol) i thought that was pretty sexist and wrong for him to say that marriage is only ‘the female fantasy’ I mean what if guys like the idea of marriage too? Unless most guys genuinely hate the idea of it.. I don’t have any guy friends to ask so I was just wondering what most guys think about this.

What do younger guys think about weddings and marriage? Do you agree that it’s just a ‘female fantasy’? I hope not lol cause that would be pretty sad 😆

Marriage has always been a "female fantasy" but it used to benefit men a lot too. Not so much anymore. marriage today is a bad deal for men and most guys are realizing that. Marriage won't last more than another generation at most.

Every man desires to be with one woman who is secure about being with them. And only then will they think about marrying a woman.

The problem with society today is that they're not sure if they're women are going to stick around long enough for them to commit to them. They want to have children and they desire to be a good husband to a wife who loves them.

Too often we see a lot of women taking half if not all of everything that they work so hard for. And all in the name of a legal marriage. So this kind of discourages men to even commit to a woman to a marriage.

Whether it's reasonable or unreasonable it's just not convenient to a man to marry a woman if they don't have assurance that the woman truly loves them and will continue to stick by their side till death do they part just like they agreed from the start.

So yes men do think about marriage. They don't want to ruin their lives through a marriage though. The purpose of being married is to live happy with the woman they love. If they don't feel or think or are convinced by the woman that that's what they found through them then they will not commit to a marriage. And that is the hard truth.

I mean I dont think I can say I'm a "spring chicken" anymore but I have ALWAYS wanted marriage and kids. I've always been monogamous too. I ask the same question about younger girls actually. I dont know many who take marriage seriously one bit. I know OF a few but never met one who was into the idea of something serious. More just wanting to screw around and that's just not who I am. So now I'm talking to someone older than me and we click. I need a girl with some mental maturity or else I just won't get any mental stimulation and I won't be able to really express myself romantically in a way that is appreciated (based on experience).

I have yet to meet a girl in her 20's that appreciated a candle lit dinner, a bonfire, slow dancing under a moonlit sky. Like seriously wtf happened to girls? Anyways the girl I'm talking to now? She rocks and I'm crazy about her lol. I honestly can't see myself going back to younger anymore. I need someone traditional and I mean REALLY traditional. Not trendy traditional for the tiktok vids before the lights go out and she turns into your typical modern woman again who berates her boyfriend/husband or plays cruel jokes on him or shares his secrets with the internet. No, I need a woman who stands by her man through thick and thin and gives him the same time and energy he gives her. Relationships are a two way street and I'll never be taken for granted again because I know my worth as a person!

I love the idea of committing to one person for the rest of my life, but the idea of marriage holds no love in my heart. Marriage just seems wasteful to me. It adds nothing, it doesn't make the relationship stronger, it doesn't make the relationship last longer, it doesn't make you more in love, all it does it cost a lot of money. Admittedly it could be a good display of affection, but with a 50% divorce rate, it seems worthless. At that rate you should just change the vows entirely, because "till death do us part", is nonsense, more like "till boredom do us part".

I personally have a great respect for marriage. My parents have been a stalwart example of unconditional love and are a living testament to the fact that the virtues of the institution are far from dead. In a time when selfcenteredness seems to be encouraged from every angle, I find it refreshing to see two people making a life commitment to putting one another's needs before their own. While I might not be too enthusiastic about the Wedding Ceremony itself (I'm not too fond of being the center of attention), I look forward to one day sharing a marriage with a woman that I love and only wish that I'd already met her.

Might sound selfish. I worked a lot on my life and pushed through some serious crap to get the life that I have. Due to that getting marriage is off the table for me. For example I was in a coma and on life support for several months. I went through nearly a year and a half of three types of medical therapies to get back to as normal as I can get. Also I worked a hell of a lot rebuild the mess that was a mess due to all of that. The moment I heard my wife say something like "we did that together" I'd be tempted to pack up and hit the road. Simply because she would be coming into my life long after all of that and had nothing to do with it.

Personally, I am not into marriage. I am not religious, so I have no doctrine cooked into me since being young. Also, from all the girls I dated when living in Canada, I met 0 fathers. 0. Ofcourse, all feminists blame evil men for leaving. It's always the man's fault, and never the woman's. Anyways, each one of those mothers received a paycheque each month, withheld visiting rights, and drilled anti-male hatred into their daughter's heads. It's also very popular in North America that a woman takes half of the guy's shit, and more, I would argue. It's not just in movies, it's the real world.

I'm sure there are still people wanting to get married. For example, I live in Europe now and it's 180 degrees the opposite. People are obsessed with matrimony and having children. So it depends on which culture you were raised in and what you were exposed to (and what propaganda was put into your head).

I plan for my marriage. Marriage only works when people have shared foundational beliefs. How can one be faithful without faith? Faith in who or what is a struggle for many people, and they are faithless and unfaithful. I believe God that he created Man for a purpose and that purpose can only be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. To second that, God designed marriage in His image. Spiritual marriage in that of the Church is to Christ, but earthly marriage represents the spiritual bond and fulfills God's design.

I think marriage a beautiful thing, but people form unions without a foundation, and everything collapses. Like most Men I see the dangers of modern marriage, but I instead place my trust and faith in God. Through this I met my now girlfriend. I can trust her as we share a foundation in Jesus. By God's Will I plan to marry next year, but whether She, I, or society will exist is beyond me. I trust God's plan for life and see marriage as a significant part to it.

I don't have stats, but I know plenty of guys who are married. I also know plenty of guys who swear they will never get married. The one that sticks out in my head was this guy who had his mom tell him that she'd buy him a Nintendo 64 if he told the judge that his dad poked his bum.

He was young enough to not understand the implications of what he was saying, but old enough to remember saying it and never getting to see his father again. His mom is still getting alimony to this day.

Marriage from a legal standpoint is an unfair setup given that a woman can marry a man and leave him and take half of everything he owns including a monthly payment making sure she has the same lifestyle that she’s accustomed to, which she left in the first place. Marriage from a relationship standpoint is great because there’s stability as long as both people are working to strengthen their marriages instead of just taking what they want from each other.

I don't hate it. I want that actually. But it would be horrible at the same time because of my anxiety. I can't talk to women even alone so I don't think I could ever kiss in front of someone much less my whole family and friends.

Well marriage used to be beneficial for men. Now its not especially if the man is well off. So the most eligible men are the least to pull the trigger. Some poor schmuck would love to be your sugar baby though.

I like the idea of marriage but there's about 20 reasons not to get married and 0 reasons to get married for men. If you want to know the deeper reasoning just ask and ill explain it out.

Culture has changed. My mothers sister got pregnant without being married, a few years after WWII. The shame was so intense that they moved 250 miles away before she started so show. Today, a marriage is not a requirement for children. The shame is mostly gone. Thank Hollywood for that. And at your age the average guy has probably seen his parents or his friends parents get divorced and it was ugly. I am from an older generation and I was not exposed to the divorce trauma. If you are a man under the age of 35 thinking of getting married you will he making one of the biggest mistakes in your life in my opinion. Absolutely no reason to do it and there is no benifit to young men to ruin their lives like that.

Yes, cause girls can marry broke without anything at all but guys can't. Men had to get a lot at first for marriage to initiate and stability. Women do work after marrige.
