If I were rich I would give him money for buying the engagement ring for me.
How much are you willing to spend on an engagement ring?
If I were rich I would give him money for buying the engagement ring for me.
I don’t want him to spend over $1k on an engagement ring. I want something less than that.
I actually have an heirloom engagement ring picked out. The ring itself costs a lot because it’s a hundred years old, but it has sentimental value to it, and it’s free. It’s a beautiful ring and I would prefer that over a ring from a store that costs a fortune.
I also have an heirloom wedding ring picked out. Again, the sentimental value is lovely and it would be free. I would prefer that over a store bought ring… However, I know that some men might prefer their wife or fiancé to wear a wedding thing that is special between both of them, rather than an heirloom ring.
why do you give me boomer vibes
I’m an ‘old soul’ who was raised by boomers. I hope that’s not an insult lol.
calling you old soul would probably be better MY BAD FOR USING THE WORD BOOMER
I’d rather be called a boomer than a zoomer.
zoomer 4 lyf 😏
This is how I approach the engagement ring issue. I wait until we have been together a year. Starting the first check after our 1-year mark, I start putting money in an account just for saving for a ring and the proposal day activities. Every 6 months I boost my monthly contribution to this account by 1.5 percent. I keep doing so for at least 1.5-2 more years. That would have us together 2.5-3 years and by then I'll know if I want to propose. Whatever is in that account is what I am spending on the entire proposal, ring and related activities. When she sees this account (which she will have because finances need to be discussed before engagement) I would tell her this is a vacation savings account until the time is right. If shit hits the fan before we get that far, at least I have a nice savings.
I'm actually really good at buying beautiful and high quality jewelry for really cheap it's just a skill I have and it's not very difficult for me to do so honestly probably not a lot
Also growing up my dad had a forge and hand I actually made stuff together typically we made knives but we made other things too so I feel like I could do jewelry so I might actually spend like almost to nothing because I could just make it which would both make it a little more sentimental because I would have made It by hand and number two I could just design it to be as I would want the ring to be which would make it even better so bam in the end I would probably spend about like 80 bucks at Max
He could get it from a Gumball machine for 25 cents, I don't care. The wedding band is another story of course, since they have to last for a lot longer. But that is something that we decide together, whereas the engagement ring is something he is going to decide on.

I would spend $5,000-8,000 on an engagement ring.
I would be willing to spend absolutely, NOTHING!
If its about love then ring isn't nesscary, its just an archaic social convention that pushed on men from jewelery companies. And its sexist, why doesn't women have buy a engagement ring in return when she accepts?
Why does anything that cost money gets pushed off on the man? And all women gas to do is return his love for a day and hopefully longer... but still fianically she gets off light.. If she wants a ring so bad she should buy her own.
Not what De Beers would want me to splurge on a chip of allotropic carbon that is for sure, an engagement ring is nothing more that a symbol of a promise of marriage and is and remains the grooms property that should be surrendered back to the groom if the engagement fails it is and never was a ‘gift’ that is a very modern notion.
And the Idea that an engagement ring had to be a diamond ring only came into existence as a result of an ad campaign paid for by De Beers.

I must truly apologize because for the life of me why an the hell does it matter just how much ur engagement ring cost that speech loud volumes to me in saying just that u are not about the Man no matter what ur going to say from now on because ur worryed about a very stupid price tag that will go on your finger and may not left a lifetime but the man will if you let him.
I am truly hoping my daughter does not turn out like you you are truly an embarrassment to the human race of women.
God Bless
14k gold ring with a cubic zircon gem. You can't tell the difference between a real diamond and a zircon. Even jewelers can't tell the difference with their naked eye. I think it would cost between $200 to $300.
Mine would even come with a prenuptial agreement. :P
$0. A walmart ring shoukd be fine. It should be about how much if you love the person giving it to you. Now your putting a dollar value on your relationship. It should never be about the money. If they don't like it then they were the wrong person for you.
At least a simple 18c yellow-gold band. I'd shop around and a good deal. Probably at least $200-300.
I might even go with a lovely silver band like this:

Then, when it came to the wedding ring, I'd have her help pick it out.
We were saving to buy a house and an engagement ring seemed like an unnecessary expense so we never bought one. I did however buy my wife a diamond ring later. It was gold with some inlaid diamonds. I paid about a thousand dollars for it. I knew somebody in the jewelry business who got me a good price.

I have spent approx $ 10,000 on Engagement rings. To resale
When I am ready to ask a woman to marry me, what is mine will be hers too. A ring symbolises all of that so I will get my jeweller friend round with several options with all different prices, and let her choose what she wants.
I do not think it is about the cost, however, when she's out shopping I want it clearly visible... and for others to step back and say inside their head "somebody loves her... or damn, she must be magical in bed... etc"
I want a simple, yet elegant ring. At first, I thought it would have to be custom made, but I already see rings I want on the internet. They fit my description.
Idc how expensive it is, but I care if it will last a long time. :)
My girlfriend took a $120 ring and didn't care. She sees and knows it's how I treat her that truly matters. Besides jewelry is a depreciating asset with a high mark up. Not worth it at all
I spent €12, and I spent too much. She already had a ring, so mine was just for show to pop the question. Between the kids and moving house we have better things to spend money on
I really don't care as long as the guy loves me like I love him it's what's really important in my opinion.
As much as a ring pop costs. Since Im a nice guy Ill let her choose the flavor
@JoyGirl Yeah, she's a lucky girl.
My sanity apparently. I mean, what the hell would being going on in my head that I would drop to a knee ever again? Yeah, my sanity apparently would be the high cost for that ring.
I wouldn't care the cost, if it was just a simple black band I would be fine with that, it is the thought and the sentiment that counts for me anyways
I think I paid close to $1500, but that was like 16 years ago.
These days I would probably pay closer to $3000 unless it was for JLo, then I would have to scrape up between 5 and 10 million.
How much is a can of Coke?
@anton_dee Wouldn't that be a little cheap?
