Can sexless marriages prevail?

Under certain circumstances maybe. I've heard that sex is kind of the super glue in marriage, especially for men. It would take a pretty low sex drive dude to survive that kind of marriage. As for me? I don't think I could do it.

Some of the males who commented here that a sexless marriage wouldn’t be acceptable are the same guys who say if women don’t want to get pregnant they shouldn’t have sex.
Those are some contradictory positions to take. So what is you guys want women to do? Have sex with you, or don’t have sex with you?

The only reason I can see to endure a sexless marriage would be to avoid inheritance taxes if you have a sizable estate, as you can pass it to your spouse. For example the house I inherited is currently worth more than the trigger point because of where it is. With my lack of blood relatives, if I were terminally ill I would marry my best friend so she could inherit it without having to pay the inheritance tax.

According to the Catholic Church, they aren't really marriages. No joke - some time back there was an article where they invalidated a marriage because the groom was handicapped in a way that he couldn't perform the "normal" sex act. Since he couldn't consummate the marriage the church annulled it.

Much better to bone kids who haven't reached sexual maturity, apparently.

Though some may prevail, the odds are a sexless marriage will eventually fail. I've known a few couples who eventually divorced because of that... invariably, one of the partners cheats or gets divorced so that they can have sex with others.
