I want wedding horror stories lol. Why was it so terrible?

Best friends wedding. The Mother-in-law made no secret for MONTHS leading up to this that she was racist against the bride and did not approve of her having a different religion. Day of the wedding, she said she wasn't coming which led to a huge argument with the bride. When I went to pick up my friend, she was literally dry heaving. I asked if she was sure she wanted to go through with it, she said yes. Get to the venue, the mom shows up last minute glaring with disapproval for the rest of the ceremony. All our friends kept asking me why they were getting married for reasons I won't list, but they were justified in asking. I had no answer for them. The grooms sister's husband (ironically not the same race), got drunk and started calling me racist names. Then during the speeches, the two women who had helped raise my best friend when her mom was sick decided they would try and one up each other in their speeches (if you've ever seen Bridesmaids...literally just like that). Afterwards they start squabbling. As I was photographer for the wedding, I wanted to gather up everyone for a group photo at the end of the night, and the angry bitter groom's mom refused to move, so everyone I'd just herded into a well lit corner, I then had to ask to get up and move around her in a dark patch of the room like she was the queen of all.

The marriage did not last.

I’ve only been to one wedding and nothing was bad about it, the biggest problems I can think of is the brides father rented a tuxedo instead of buying his own, I ran into a school guy while there which detracted from my privacy and the friend who sat at my table tried to limit how many cocktails I had because he wanted to play big brother to me and they served shark fin soup which I think is bad for shark populations.

Went to a cousin's wedding in western PA in July. I was recently married (2 months). It all started when we got to the hotel. It was at one point a motel with a pool in the center surrounded by the rooms. They got the bright idea to put a roof over the courtyard. This meant that the exhaust from every AC unit was spewing into the courtyard. This was a nice combo with the smell of chlorine.

Start hanging out with everyone and playing drinking games. A cousin on the other side kept talking shit to me "how'd you get HER" (my wife). He kept at it all night here and there. Next thing I know his girlfriend is feeling up my leg as soon as he leaves.

Next morning, order room service and it takes 3 hours to get to us. Their idea of french toast was cinnamon buns dipped in egg and fried.

Go to the wedding and it's like 97 degrees with 90+% humidity. And the church had no AC. Everyone is sweltering, my granmda almost passes out, and they didn't think to pack a cooler with ice and waters for the guests. You could practically wring my suit out. This goes on for an extended service and everyone is miserable.

Finally get to the reception hall, and their AC had broken, too. So still no releif from the heat. At least we could get some water. No one even wanted to drink alcohol, they just wanted to rehydrate. Food was crappy and overcooked.

Some years ago, my sister brought me as her "plus one" to a friend's wedding. It was a disaster - the groom kept hitting on all the ladies present - including my sister - and the bride just ignored him and instead spent a lot of time chatting with the guest and talking about everything except the wedding - I remember she kept enquiring about my studies and what kind of career I would pick, and gave me advice as well. Plus, when they had to kiss, she jerked her head away and made him kiss her cheek. Io and behold, my sister told me he friended her on Facebook yesterday and told her they are divorcing and that he needs "someone to talk with". My sister kindly told him to f*ck off, as she's (happily) married, just had a baby and wants to be left in peace.

Outside wedding in Florida in August at 2 pm - no indoor facility in which to wait for the ceremony to begin - and the bride is an hour late for the wedding.

One wedding we went to had a groom who was Catholic, and a bride who was Protestant, and they decided just to keep everyone happy, they'd have a combined Catholic and Protestant wedding with a priest and a minister changing leads. This whole ceremony took an hour at least. At the reception, the bride's parents were very religious and did not approve of alcohol, music, or dancing, so the reception was dry, which annoyed quite a few people. Then the bride and groom opened EVERY present they got. BOOORRRRRINNNGGGG!!! The groom's father never showed up, because he had this thing about the bride not being a virgin, even though he was an old sailor who screwed around like a hound dog in his younger days.

Mine was when I my now ex husband and I got married. To start off my mom wears a white dress to my wedding then made a whole scenes Infront of everyone. In the reception she left later comes back when the wedding is over. Yeah I wouldn't invite her if God wants me remarried the second time. My mom made a whole disaster.

The bride was pregnant, turns out it wasn't her man's baby but the dudes cousin. She was never seen again, she was outcasted by the family.
