Do married people need to get permission to hangout with someone of the opposite gender?

If i am married and i have a long time friend of the opposite gender that i hadn't seen in a long time. he's in town. Would i need to seek husbands permission to meet up with him? There is a good chance the posessive insecure husband will say no. I have no intentions on cheating.

Disclosing friends of the opposite gender ahead of time makes a huge difference. My SO grew up here in Florida and she went to high school with guys, some of whom are now elected county officials. She still sees these guys, and it doesn't bother me in the least.
