Do You Look For Your Soulmate Or Your Best Friend?

For a long time I searched for my soulmate. It put me under a ridiculous amount of stress. I did find him (thanks to God), but after I found him, I realized all I really wanted was a best friend. That's all a good marriage partner really is: a best friend you get along with really well, and want to have sex with.

Wouldn't you agree? If I'd known that, it would have made my life so much simpler...

Totally agree with you.

I do not agree with people that say they do not believe in soulmates. The concept is that the is only one person out there that you are destined to be with, and you are draw together by fate. I reject this definition of a soul mate.

I reject it because I do not believe there is just one person out there, but their specific types of people that are more akin to you. Soul mate is something some becomes to you, verses what they just are from the start.

I go by Websters definition.

Soul Mates
1. a person who is perfectly suited to another in temperament
2. a person who strongly resembles another in attitudes or beliefs

I do not believe that any one person is perfectly suit to you, but you and they both become perfectly suited to each other and share a special bond in love and friendship. So, isn't that exactly what you are talking about? I think it is and I am 100% in agreeance with you.

I look for the make version of myself tbh. Similar smile, age, background, sense of humor, beliefs, interests, goals, mindset, lonewolf, etc. The only differences i really crave is that he's the opposite sex, taller, less stubborn, and a better listener

I don't know if there is a soulmate or not. It'd be nice to think there is someone like that. Whatever you say makes sense, your partner needs to be your bestfriend. So I think it'd be far better to look for a bestfriend (not a friendzone of course lol) than a soulmate.
