If women are Happier with taller men then why do shorter men tend to have longer marriages?

I’ve been reading lots of articles lately and two articles have peaked my interest. One said “short wives and tall husbands tend to have happier marriages” yet the other article said “shorter men stay married longer”. If statistics say women with taller husbands are happier then how do shorter men stay married longer? I just don’t understand

Women who pick on height are less mature than women who don't. If you marry a short guy, you are with him for all the qualities that aren't his height. So you have more qualities that you like because you didn't restrict yourself based on height. Let's say you meet two guys who check a lot of your boxes. One is taller and the other is shorter. You choose the taller guy because you like tall guys, but he doesn't check quite as many boxes as the shorter one.

Well, aside from them living longer, a woman who's willing to be with a shorter man* is typically going to be a woman who's more laid back and easier to deal with; she's more likely to overlook, or be willing to work through, problems than a pickier woman who insists on a taller guy.

*This is not to imply that shorter men are in any way inferior partners; just that women are less likely to be attracted to them.

Shorter guys are less dominant in the relationship and relationships last longer when the man is less dominant, there is also a lower risk of physical abuse if the husband is physically smaller than the wife. That is a huge factor driving the divorce rate in America, I would say at least half of divorced women left because of bad or abusive treatment.

shorter men have longer lifespans than taller men though it must suck to have a wife that resents her husband for something outside of his control like his height

My aunt, who married a tall man after divorcing a relatively short man, has been together for 20+

Because the taller men are more desired and so are more likely to cheat and get divorced. Shorter guys are happy just to be married.

Shorter guys have less options than taller guys. So taller guys often indulge in extra marital affairs leading to divorce.
