Is it an arranged marriage?

My colleague got married to a man she never talked about before in my knowledge. He lives in New York while she lives in France. He came to visit last August and now she’s pregnant. He didn’t come to France. It looks like she’ll have to raise the child on her own. They’re both Algerians. Is it something normal?

That is not normal in any global location or relationship. This is what birth control and condoms are for. Apparently, she wanted a child and did not think a traditional family design is required for a proper raising of the child.

It actually seems like she didn’t plan on getting pregnant so early.

Well guess so but if one has those intentions one usually has a condom or taking the pill... Only she knows for sure, right.

Sure. That’s why I wonder if it’s due to traditions or something like that…
