I’m seeking full time work and I’ve started volunteering at the secondhand store to try to get paid work. There’s a man who’s perfect for me. He’s attractive, intelligent, funny and sensitive and loves and supports me, but has no desire to work. That’s my only issue with him.

Someone that doesn't want a job? I feel like thats a red flag. You can't form a relationship without having a personal life as well. So this might be an issue.

No really. I want to work for the Salvation Army store, selling secondhand clothes to the poor. I’m serious; and I’ve met a man who’s perfect for me except he doesn’t have a job. Just because you can’t see yourself helping poor people for a living doesn’t mean everyone agrees with you and just because you wouldn’t consider marrying a great but lazy guy doesn’t mean no one else would.

At what point have I been offensive to you?

Please Note: At least two or three times a year I donate various pieces of clothing, shoes or household objects that I no longer have any use for to charity shops, and have on occasions actually purchased some very nice items from them.

Also, some years ago my husband gave his services as an architect free of charge, completely redesigning an old property into habitable use for a charity dealing with a group of mentally and physically handicapped vulnerable young children.

Enough said I believe.

Yet you still mock someone for wanting to have a job helping the poor. Where the pay is bad and there’s less glory for them than there is for you. Because you feel superior from getting better pay and more respect to the point of people kissing up to you which has given you a big ego. If that’s not deflated anytime soon, which it seems it won’t be, you’ll learn some hard lessons later in life, when you’re retired. See how important you appear to others then.
