If marriage benefits women less, then why are they so adamant on getting married?

I was researching marriage and kept seeing articles about how women benefit less from it, and I wondered why they even want to be married in the first place.

This is a misconception I see a lot on this site. Relationships aren't business transactions. Most people don't date someone for financial or status benefits. Same goes for marriage. A lot of users here seem to think in very robotic and overly logical ways when it comes to pros and cons of a partner.

In reality, people marry each other not for any potential tangible benefits, but because the love the person and want to be with them.

I don't know why men always think the worst about marriage. I don't know who hurt them, but not all women are out to get them. we don't think of marriage that way...

Studies that showed women benefit less from marriage are based on much older couples who were married during a very different time. Today's marriage (and divorce) benefits men less than women.
