Do most women keep their engagement rings on after being married?

I thought you get an engagement AND a wedding ring with a diamond. I thought only men had the cheaper rings and women had two expensive rings? But only the engagement ring is supposed to be the expensive one? I never knew.

From the day my fiancé proposed to me and placed a ring on my finger that stayed there until the day we got married.

Just prior to our wedding ceremony I removed my ring so as my husband could then put my gold wedding band on, after which I immediately put my engagement ring back on.

Almost five years later I only ever remove my engagement ring if I'm doing dirty heavy type work etc. for fear of damaging it... However, I have never removed my wedding band and have absolutely no intentions whatsoever of ever doing so.

I think a lot of cost counting people use the same ring for both. Like I know a poor guy who got his wife a budget ring. It was beautiful but very thin because he could not afford a thick one.

I don't wear mine and not for any nefarious reasons either. I will, however, put them on for special occassions.
